With all due respect, I thought Crowder's point is that the contract basically bent the knee to Big Tech - that the terms were such that he would never be able to say, what he thought needed to be said, lest it run afoul of various social media gate-keepers. The contractual dispute was not so much about money, but about censorship.

Their "word" doesn't matter; actions do. It's clear Daily Wire is part of a larger problem in politics: controlled opposition.

Midterm election night streaming for Daily Wire on KZfaq maxed out and held in the 80-85k range. For Crowder on RUMBLE it maxed out and held in the 300-350k range. He must know something they don’t. I had them both on at the same time and DW’s numbers went up when Crowder came on their stream that night.

It was rumoured that Steven's gay Latino agent asked for $120 million over 4 years, for Steven, his expenses, and his team of 25+. If mug club is 350,000 people paying 69 or 99 annually, that makes Crowder worth between 24 and 34 million annually. let's round to 30 mil. The contract was for 4 years. 30milx4=120mil. His agent's request was reasonable based on subscription revenue alone. DW offered him 50 (so I guess they keep the other 120-50=70) and wanted all those strings and to take all his social media and own all the revenue from everything else, including merch, and add so many adverts that if would fundamentally change the show, and make him do monthly crap that DW members get. That 50mil DW offered him, was for 768 shows, or 64k per episode, and DW would dock him 100k for each one he misses. DW wanted to act like "we're in this together" when it comes to sharing the [ad revenue] losses, but it's "strictly business" when the DW doesn't share any of the gains. Be it ad revenue, merch sales, or subscription revenue.

"Merchandising in perpetuity," what would prevent the company from going behind your back and copyrighting your name? What would prevent the company from releasing a best-of box set to own your back catalog? What would prevent a fruit company, a mouse or a foreign government from making dw an offer they cannot refuse, and transferring those rights?

As Crowder said multiple times, it wasn't about the amount, it was about the penalties (that added up to 110 percent, which, if all the penalties applied, he'd owe them money...lol)... and the 50 million wasn't to Crowder personally, but to his production company which employs 30'ish people, and does all the production themselves (including all the costs). People just hear "50 million"...

In good business everybody wins. The evidence suggests DW don’t really see it that way. Just because Jeremy comes across as nice and friendly is meaningless in the context of the actual contract parameters. The worst take I consistently hear about this is that Crowder should've just denied the deal and that be the end of it. Whether you think Crowder or DW is right as a whole, I think the fact that these types of contracts/negotiations take place and one was finally revealed is a big win for everyone (thanks DW for showing off your own contract). I can say I haven't seen everything that involves this controversy. That said, I think a lot of people are missing Crowder's intent of bringing this subject up. I believe he made it clear that the subject was not about money. It was about the censorship of Big Tech and how Big Con Media is enabling it to continue. Meaning, the stipulations in their contracts keep allowing Big Tech to impose their censorship tactics and also prevent their content creators from speaking freely. I believe the main point he was trying to make is how are people going to combat this censorship with these type of stipulations in these contracts. As to the Daily Wire, if they did not take it upon themselves to respond, any mention if it being them would have been speculation.

One of Crowders big issues in the last few years has been big tech censorship. its been a hill he would die on. so to receive a contract that included censorship clauses was a slap in the face. and then to admit it was a standard inclusion shows how DW really feels about Cancel culture. think about how they hyped up that actress from the Mandalorian. DW pushed themselves as an anti-cancel culture / censorship company but that contract proved they care more about money than fixing the ideology they preach. We have been fighting social media on this for years. claim to be fair and unbiased. if we saw something like this from the left we would be united, up in arms. but everyone's so afraid of going against someone on the same side of the political spectrum that they are walking on eggshells and letting it slide. we need to hold Conservatives to a higher standard. letting "conservative social media" do something we wouldn't let the left do is insane to me.
