I like to use the finger roll and scoop layups used by guys like Curry, Nash, Gervin. I also use angled bank floaters. Im 5'6 so i use alot of different angles to get my layups off against bigger guy.

Good stuff Coach! These are also referred to as "pro layups' You are on the money. Traditional lay-ups are reserved for warm up lay up line. Goofy or pro layups are designed to make you more efficient and not have to worry about stutter stepping your feet prior to laying the ball up.

Great drill and great explanation, but what about more complicated layups, like switching hands, up and under, layups that is harder to pull of but if u master them it helps a lot against good defense

smart be like kawhi leonard just make sure when you get to offense you have a good smooth shot form thats the most important part. learn post play, especially face up moves. youll probably end up being a SF even if youre a PF in HS, possibly SG too so its always good to learn big and guard moves both.

Thats not the original traditional layup the guys in the NBA did in first year to 60s. Then the over handed layup tookover. They did underhanded layups. That was the normal layup dating back before the 1930s. The Original Celtics did them and more.
