I finally found the issue with my P.O.S. lb7 duramax. Aftere some research i found out later generation cp3's will work and even supply slightly higher fuel pressure when required from more aggressive tunes. The job is definitely time consuming, but if you need this part replaced it'll be well worth it. I was able to snag a low mileage lml for 300 bucks vs a remanufactured lb7 pump which would run around 1000 bucks....no brainer. All you need to do is swap over your lb7 fpr or get a new one and the new cp3 pops right in to place! This video is pretty lengthy and fairly tedious but i figured i would put it up to help someone see what the job is going to look like. I definitely didn't do everything perfectly, so please dont take my way as gospel. After i finished install i had leaks all over the place (which turned out to just be loose fuel lines), as well as issues with the glow plug module being re wired improperly. These were all my own fault and after i fixed them up, the truck ran great. The cp3 was swapped about 6 months (a few thousand miles) ago and it runs strong as hell.
