'Le Roy Engloys' - French 100 Years War Song

'Le Roy Engloys' is a song from the Bayeux Manuscript, a compilation of a songs assembled in the 1500s by Charles III de Bourbon. It was written in the latter half of the 1400s. The song has various inaccuracies, being created fifty years after the events it tells of. It mentions the King Henry V of England dying in Saint-Fiacre in Brie, he actually passed away in Vincennes.
The Song is about the last stage of the Hundred Years' War, spanning from 1415 to 1453, The Battle of Castillon in 1453 marked the final battle, where the French forces, led by Jean Bureau, decisively defeated England. This victory marked the collapse of English influence in France.

The kingdom of France officially began to be called that only under King Philip Augustus in 1180. Until then, it formally continued to bear the name Western Francia.

I have a whole library of custom maps for countries, with France going back to 987, Germany to 843, England to 927, and Scotland to 843. I have been trying to use them all. I’m English, so French and German, and even Scots is a little difficult, but expect more mediaeval music.
