My guy.... you TOTALLY get it. This is the best leaf trailer built. Great job!

I know you are pumped for fall clean up season. It might be a good idea to add those 2x4’s along the top just to eliminate the sharp/rough edges created by the vertical posts and edges of the plywood that my wear a hole in your tarp. Your videos are always informative. I like seeing how other peoples minds work. It helps me fine tune my plans with less trial and error.

The trailer will only fill up to the end of your hose. I think you will have issues getting a full trailer great build
@HandyGuy20162 жыл бұрын
That is very possible, I will find out this Fall and make adjustments as needed.
@grahammedlock30942 жыл бұрын
When it comes time to dump, I'm assuming the door with the loader on it also opens. Will you disconnect the loader from the yellow hose on the interior of the trailer? Great video, love the detail.
@HandyGuy20162 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is correct.

In Harbor freight you can get a little bungee cords they have a little plastic Circle hanging from dance so I run my tarps in my dump truck and trailer with those So I put the little bungees in every single eye of the tarp then I put screws into the plywood and every single Bungee attaches to it so they pull really tight to keep the tarp In please but the beauty of it is that you can remove a section in a blink to throw stuff in the trailer like branches or dumping a barrel in there or if you need to jump in there to compact the leaves So you basically will have access throughout the whole trailer and they snap in those screws in no time I wish I could send you a picture
@HandyGuy20163 жыл бұрын
I think I can picture it, that is an excellent idea!
@outdoorsclickllc6633 жыл бұрын
@@HandyGuy2016 in the past I also just bought bungee cord by feet And then I did my loops It’s about the access which matters whatever you decide to do But man you make me realize the fall is Around the corner I should get a few things done before it gets me with my pants down😳😳😅

How did it do with the dust? I currently have the 37hp Billy Goat, an with the 12/1 compaction it creates and blows a insae amount of dust up right through the mesh top. Leaves a terrible mess of dust on the ground/ more importantly the operator. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Great video.

Great video! When I get my tip dumpster I'm following your lead to the T! Question for you, will this dump be specific to spring and fall cleanups? If not will you be taking the walls off for spring/summer months? Thanks, again great video.
@HandyGuy20162 жыл бұрын
I use the trailer all year, so this is just a Fall/Winter setup, then it all gets removed for Spring/Summer.

Hi, did you use treated or non treated plywood and lumber to build your leaf box? By the way very nice setup!!!
@HandyGuy2016 Жыл бұрын
Thank you and everything is treated and holding up great.
@josetapaia39453 жыл бұрын
This is great thank you! Can you share what the thickness of the playwood is? Also, is it treated?
@HandyGuy20163 жыл бұрын
It's 3/4" plywood and all the lumber and plywood are treated.

Why did you decide to mount the bully goat onto the door closer to the road versus the curb?
@HandyGuy201610 ай бұрын
À lot of the time I'm solo, so I pull up to the pile on my side and saves me time.
@pdiddy82310 ай бұрын
@@HandyGuy2016 oh ok, that makes sense. Actually a really good idea!
@RJ-lk5pj2 жыл бұрын
Why didn’t you mount the vacuum towards the front end of the trailer ? Above the battery box.. Seems like it’s easier to unload if the vacuum isn’t near the back as it’s a dump trailer.
@HandyGuy20162 жыл бұрын
I did a lot of research and talked to a lot of guys running dump trailer/vacuum setups, and the majority prefer rear mount vacuums.
@jeffeversole291 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. How much debris do you get blown out of the back end where the mesh tarp has a gap?
@HandyGuy2016 Жыл бұрын
Very little debris, mostly dust. I got a longer mesh tarp to close the gap which helps also.

Nice setup. How does the door open connected to the yellow/black pipe?
@HandyGuy2016 Жыл бұрын
The pipe is loosely fit so it comes off when the door is opened. I have changed it since this video and it is now clamped to the end of Billy Goat Tube and opens with the door.

I think it's easier to buy a trailer with higher walls than to do that
@HandyGuy2016 Жыл бұрын
If you wanted to use it with high sides year round, it would be easier to buy it with high sides. I use it to haul mulch, gravel, and other loads with the short sides and use the side extensions in the Fall/Winter for leaf removal.
