Yeah I agree. People share their love their anger and all of their sorrow 🫵 but with their close friends or in a therapeutic situation. Doing it in a public space just inflames and causes misunderstandings or other problems.

The same problem can also happen when you do it to friends or even partners. I see this happen all the time, people just vent about their feelings, get some validation, then they think their issues are fixed because now they feel better. Then the underlying issue hasn't gone anywhere, so it just comes back and gets worse. Now you're just stuck in a relationship where the other person is just dumping all their emotional trauma on you so they can feel slightly better about it, meanwhile the underlying issues just fester and get worse, causing a cycle of emotional dumping and negativity.

what ive learned joining certain fb groups. just one big circle jerk to validate feelings or situations they are in but get nowhere with the issues they complain about.

agree. it overlaps with the modern conception that "being a victim" gives you power. For a lot of people it's subconscious. They don't articulately realize that that's what they're doing, but they understand intuitively that modern society likes to "compensate" "victims", and they want a piece of that pie.

Even if you can't solve the problem you can at least change the coping mechanism of relieving associated stress. Wish you luck with finding a good therapist, they're out there somewhere for sure!
