I thought so too, but she has some in-game quotes such as "You thought my magic evil, Some call me evil, shall I prove them right?, You wanted a villain, I gave you a villain". So I thought even if she's not, for some people she is a villain, she wouldn't mind to hurt other, maybe I am wrong

@@vibe9188 It’s more a case of her playing into the reputation that people have of her. She looks the part, her personality is quite embittered, and she’s perfectly willing to fight back and kill if she has to. She’ll be called a villain either way.

as far as I love that concept of a villain being a victim who's story hasn't been told, there are also people in real life who'd relish in your despair. People you trusted, people you once considered family. Their life can be so perfect, and they can still be the most vile person you'd meet. Not every villain is a victim. Some are true monsters.

Well, he's taking revange on every captain, since he believes all of them are douchbags that don't give a crap for their crew, killing even those that maybe aren't bad, I wanted to see Pyke more like a villain than a murderer, since he has nothing against the Captain's crew for example. Idk it made sense in my head at the time xd

I like that you mentioned Aatrox. He is a tragic hero in the Runeterra's story and that's what makes him a good villain, I believe. He has to choose between his own suffering and the suffering of others. Two opposing values but of the same importance. I believe what made him mad is actually hundreds of years of being in the state described in his short story "The Cage". But there is one thing that bothers me the most. I cannot be certain that Aatrox is actually a villain based on what I typed above. I only believe so. How do we know for sure he was noble to humans during the Darkin Wars? I want to believe so but there is no logical reason to be sure about it. In the game he has this quote that humans need to be "whipped, broken, and bridled" which can point at two things. Either he despises humans for the imprisonment or he was a cruel warrior during the Darkin Wars and was taking slaves like other Darkins did (mentioned in the "Twilight of the Gods" story). If that's the case then, in my opinion, his title changes from a villain to a simple murderer. Also, his murderous nature can be proved by the logical fact that he was imprisoned in the first place. Why would humans make him suffer so much if he was their protector? I personally like the idea of Aatrox being a villain (and not a murderer) because it puts a mirror between me and him so I can kind of see his "problems" in myself and sort of reevaluate parts of my life that I struggle with, I suppose. Him being a villain seems to be more compelling than him being a murderer and I hope Riot will not spoil it with the future releases.

I think aatrox is a villain because after the celestials and humans caged him,he felt betrayed which he says in the quotes when he goes up against pantheon in the game. “Come betrayer, come fiend” And the story kinda gets killed if aatrox was actually enslaving humans because you can only feel betrayed by the ones you trust and love so I don’t think I can find a reason for aatrox to feel betrayed after the people he enslaved got back at him. I believe aatrox cared for the humans and protected them during the void invasion and the darkin wars,but got imprisoned when the darkin wars became too dangerous.He never wanted the destruction of the world,but now the only thing that can cure his pain is the very end of it.

Aatrox, like ASol, both have been tricked by the humans, think about ASol, once he's free from Targon's grasp he would pretty much obliterate Runeterra, even tho he had no problem with them to begin with. Aatorx is no different, he felt betrayed and for good reason, the aspect and humans gave him a fate worst than death, so it's no wonder he wants to end it all

It makes sense that "betrayal never comes from your enemies" and Aatrox states that he was indeed betrayed. As for Aurelion, his contempt for the Celestials comes in pair with Aatrox's. And having these two similar opinions coming from two independent beings would make it relevant to say that, for the Celestials, the end justifies the means. But who are these Celestials if they are so underhanded? Fiddlesticks is a powerful demon who doesn't care, Soraka is on Runeterra trying to maintain her physical form to help humans, Bard doesn't seem to be much of a conspirator, Justice isn't being despised by Aatrox (Legends of Runeterra card interaction) I can only think of Twilight and Pantheon (back when he was alive). That would either mean Twilight is the only one who currently controls Aurelion or there are other Celestials of the similar nature. So Aatrox was never inherently evil and the proof is that he must have been betrayed. He was made a villain by the Celestials he now addresses them as "fiends".

I understand everyone but Aatrox, as yeah he isn't evil from his heart but he didn't turn evil by his imprisonment. He actually got corrupted by the Void as he fought it under Azirs command. But as soon as Azir fell, most of the god-warriors fell into insanity. Thats why Misha, the former Aspect of Twillight imprisoned the Darkins or former God-Warriors with the help of the humans. Same goes for all other Darkins mentioned in Riots Universe

He didn't fall into insanity after shurima fell, the God-Warriors, without purpose started fighting among them selves because of power, yes, fighting the void did corrupt their minds but it wasn't the main thing, just like a soldier can come back from the war with PTSD, the real corruption came from them learning blood magic and changing their forms, but because the wars between the darkins was so dangerous, Aspect of Twillight imprisoned them, and that's the main reason why Aatrox is the way he is. Before he was imprisoned he didn't want to destroy everything, but while he was imprisoned the celestial concept Aatrox merged with and gained his ascended power from had been trapped/deleted. Literally the ideal/idea he represented ceased to exist when he was trapped. Humans no longer could even have the thought/idea of what he was the avatar of, so that is the reason he cant die, so he basically thinks this is bullshit since he was trapped for millennia and now that he is free he doesn't have nothing to live for but he also cant die, so the only hope he has is to destroy everything so that he maybe can also destroy himself.

I get the point but there are also characters who are evil just because they are/want to be. Not every character is a victim type (morde any void being, volibear, kayle, thresh)

It's a fine line between Villain and Sociopaths. The way I see it, a villain is someone that seeks power, revange or just want to prove the wrong that was done to them in the past through harm. Kayle, as most of Demacia's population, is blinded by this lable they call "Justice" blaming mages for what one single mage did a long time ago, that is prejudice fueled by fear, fear that the mageseekers are inducing into people. Urgot is another example of a sociopath, kills without actual reason, just because he wants to see if people have what it takes to be stronger, otherwise they just get murdered. Voliber is another story, narcissist to be exact. The only thing bigger than his size was his arrogance. We don't know yet the backstory of Ornn and Volibear, why they didn't like eachouther, before Volibear and Ornn clashed and the Hearthblood were killed. Im not saying every cruel character is a villain, but for me a villain, by definition, is someone that lost a pice of them along the way.

Morgana may not be, but Sylas is, spent 15 years locked up just because he was born a mage, treated worse than other demacians, he's a threat to Demacia, a criminal for making justice for himself and others mages of Demacia, maybe I am wrong, but Demacia consideder him a villain, or a monster
