My dog no doubt has leaky gut. She is sensitive to EVERYTHING and cannot eat a single thing good for her. I’m overwhelmed and have no clue how to fix her.

So coconut oil is not good because it causes inflammation? I have been seeing videos on benefits of this oil and feeding my dogs this, please do let me know what you think on this?

What topical treatment would you use to help sooty the skin irritation. My dog has hot spots and itchy skin. I’m doing your suggestion but need something to help irritation. How do you feel about cytopoint.

I sure hope I found this in time to save my 12 year old malamute wolf hybrid, I've been telling the vets for months something is wrong with him, and its nit his hip dysplasia, but they keep telling me that it is the hips, finally this past Tuesday February 06,2024 he had a really bad attack, I thought maybe pancreatic attack, but by the time I called Friday morning to get blood work they told me he was so dehydrated the blood wouldn't even flow out of him, he ended up having to go on fluids. I've got him on organika l'glutamine since this has happened, I also find that YL Essentialzyme has worked the best for him so far & occasionally he may get ACV in a veg gel capsule. I've heard clove oil would be good for healthy gut bacteria too, but going to read up on that more before I decide; ,thx for sharing, and anyone reading this please pray for Glacier; we sure need it

I give my dogs food I've cooked specifically for them. Mostly chicken, pressure cooked with carrots (sometimes sweet potato) and steamed broccoli. They also get ground beef and salmon pretty regularly. Sometimes I treat them with sardines - water packed and on occasion tuna. They get "tastes" of almost everything I eat. They also get frozen blueberries, bone meal, "Green Rover" (suforaphane), and "Safe Sea" (Omega 3+) every day. Plus "Bifido For Rover" (probiotics) every other day. Smooth, shiny, soft fur. No allergies. No itching, and lots of energy. On side note concerning fleas and ticks. They get Cistus Incanus (dried leaf) every morning. Occasionally I mix into their evening meal a little oil of oregano and grapefruit seed extract for their microbial effects. They get food twice a day and I weight it. I also add approx. 7.5oz of water with every meal. They are both about 16-18 lbs so adding 15oz of water is pretty much all they need daily. They are very hydrated. My back yard is chemical free. Ya lots of weeds, but its healthier for them and the honeybees like the dandelion and clover flower.

She sheds and itches terribly and her hair is course, lackluster and turning gray. We've been through the ringer with her and she's on prescription food. I'm currently working on her gut. I currently have her on vibactra+ , liquid tonekote from happy jack, and 4health prebiotic os of a week ago. I just want my girl to be healthy and safe. I love her so much. Hi Dana Thank you for your tireless help for dogs. My 8 year old American Bulldog Rocky must have leaky gut. He’s been healthy all his life until 7 months ago when he had an epulis tumor which was surgically removed by my former Vet. He was on antibiotics for over a month and it seriously took me 6 months to restore his gut- he was constantly having loose poop, diarrhea, and vomiting. He got better but around late Spring this year he developed hot spots and bad dandruff. He now has collarettes in a few places that he scratched and they got red and crusty. I’ve immediately started him on the best FourLeafRover supplements I could afford: Red and Green Rover, yeast guard, gut guard, digest, protect, MCT oil, wild Alaskan salmon oil, a 1/2 tsp ACV with dinner as well, Nordic Naturals Omega 3 oil, zesty paws 11 in 1 multifunctional, zesty paws aller-immune which has colostrum, quercetin, probiotics as well as soil based probiotics. I am physically unable to cook as I have late stage Lyme and am in poor health so out of necessity I feed him canned food from Wellness, Evangers, Merrick, Weruva and Honest Kitchen. I try to look at labels when purchasing so try to avoid grains, potatoes and legumes and chicken but sometimes they sneak some in but I do my best. Sadly I eat mostly frozen and salads. I politely told her I don’t use them as I disagree and believe they’re unhealthy and unsafe and was immediately criticized that I’m playing with fire and the Practice would never sell anything unsafe - Ok…. The DVM immediately told me Rocky likely has heartworm and parasites as well as Lyme. I agreed to let her test Rocky’s blood and all tests were negative. She looked at Rocky’s collarettes (2) both were drying up but she told me to be vigilant and spray them with Trichlor4 which isn’t terrible and said it should dry up the infection. She also gave me cephalexin just in case to have on hand in the event he “needed “ it for an emergency- I’m ok with that as an emergency measure but I’m hoping I do not need it. He started scratching one collarette today and I stopped him and immediately sprayed it with Trichlor4 and took him for a walk so it dried and so far today the collarette Is drying up and appears to be shrinking. Thanks for explaining leaky gut, which I am very sure my dog has. Although I believe in feeding raw, our dog needs to put weight on so I am also feeding The Honest Kitchen organic grain base mix along with the raw. If you know any way to just feed raw and also increase weight, please let me know. This is an adopted dog of 3 1/2 who was fed kibble for her first 3 years, was vaccinated and spayed right before we got her last June. Need help.

Hi, thanks for this informative video. We have had an ultrasound done and our Milo has IBD. I am currently using Dr Mercola complete probiotics but I checked and it does not have the pediococcus acidilactici strain. Would you be willing to recommend a soil based probiotic? We cook for Milo so he is not getting any kibble. We also feed broccoli, kale, blueberries, apples, etc along with cooked ground turkey, turkey livers, quail eggs, cinnamon, salt and oysters. Also supplementing with krill oil and cod liver oil. Any suggestions are appreciated.

My dog, a 9 year old, lab adopted 6 months ago, has terrible gas, and both burps and farts and sometimes she has a big belly with all her gas. I keep an eye out for bloat. Otherwise she acts fine, very happy and playful. Could this be caused by leaky gut? Any suggestions?

You mentioned ear infections may be a sign of leaky gut. Starting him on this diet should help - how long does it take to see a difference? He keeps getting put on prednisone and antibiotics because of chronic ear infections so I need help on building up his gut.

I know that coconut oil helps regulate blood sugar and I’ve heard that we should sauté veggies in coconut oil or ghee and then feed our dogs that. How much is too much if we want to avoid leaky gut? I think you said it around the 8 min mark that coconut oil should be avoided.

Would you say leaky gut is could also be a cause to why so many dogs have seasonal and environmental allgeries ? Or are those allgeries what you would assume is real allgeries ?

Is chronic diarrhea or loose stool normal? I dont feed kibble. I feed organic, grass fed raw, I'll cook chicken though, and I dont feed it often, mostly steak and lamb and bison, and salmon once a week, I mix in other things such as mushrooms, carrots, capsicum, sprouts, blue berries, and I include live bugs pre and pro biotics. For treats, natural, organic, grass fed freeze dried or dehydrated such as beef heart. Lots of water is always available and he drinks lots on our walks. At most he might go 2 days with normal poos then back to runny. It gets in his tail and I have to wash him after every walk. It's frustrating. Hes happy and has a wonderful attitude. He's raised naturally and was given vaxes at the breeder, and I did antivacinosis when I got him for a month. Hes a japanese chin and just turned 1. Any suggestions? I have tried everything. Thanks

I would love to agree with this video, but raw food caused my dogs leaky gut syndrome in the first place. He was fed exclusively raw for the first 2 years of his life and now he's suffering from leaky gut. My vet, and some other vets from austria which I've been communicating with have said that there's a connection between the intestinal lining and raw dog food. So if anything, the best way is to feed a balanced cooked diet with starches, just not very inflammatory ones.
