Prepositions are function words. As there are many functions, these small words have many uses. They are especially hard to learn when combined with other words. We call these combinations preposition collocations. In this lesson we focus on collocations with prepositions grouped around the words “house”, “time”, and “agree”. You will learn preposition collocations such as in-house, outhouse, by the time, at the time, agree to, agree on, and many more. More importantly, you will start to understand some ways in which you can group preposition collocations when you encounter them. After the lesson, take the quiz: www.engvid.com/learn-english-...

Best advice I have ever heard. Recently, I started doing that and it has helped tremendously, but I wasn’t sure if I was been silly collecting example sentences for my flashcards. I feel more confident after seeing your video. I organize them by preposition but I like your idea of time, then I’ll need location, direction, mode, etc. Thanks so much for making this video!

thanks, that was useful. by the way in your test, the first one, the correct one is on time, but the meaning is a bit different , it's more like in time, by the meaning ... but I guess , it's just the way it's used "to arrive on time", which you could probably make a note to the video.

Hi Adam, how's it going ?. That was an excellent explanation, I understood everything you said and now I understand even better the use of prepositions even though they're a tough topic in English, I didn't know that meaning of the word "outhouse", you're right, I never would've guessed its meaning, By the way, Does "outhouse" have another meaning besides that one ?, I mean how about if I wrote it like this, "out-house" (with an hyphen) ?. Thanks for the video lesson Adam it was very educational and thanks in advance for the answers, I'll be waiting for them, I mean, I'm looking forward to them.

Hello, Mr. Adam, 1/ Can any noun be a verb? Example: 1/ I fan my Dad when it is hot. 2/ I umbrella my Mom when it rains. Are they both correct? 2/ Can any verb be an adjective? Example: We say, “imitation meat” why not “imitating meat”? While we can say, “sleeping dog”. Thank you,
