Beautiful pictures, i'm really impressed! If you delivere an image in black and white, do you also give a version in color too? Some bictures are just more pleasing in black and white but my clients are always asking for a color variation too.

Amazing photos, as always, but the most useful things are the little details about how you work. Little things and experiences that always helped me through my work and still do. There are certain way of working you learn from someone and never question, so I think it's vital to hear other photographers. Also come on the 18mm f1.4 is way to wonderful to be real.

Would love to know what you used for your photometry setting and do you change it ever depending on indoors/outdoors/Lumimuse. Also, do you tend to shoot weddings in AE or M? I recall your street work is often P mode, but curious how you have your current cameras set up for documenting. Thanks in advance!

That's certainly very good in the camera. However, I didn't like the ergonomics and the viewfinder also. It just doesn't feel like a Fujifilm camera to me. More of a machine and I prefer to enjoy using cameras tbh.

What do you keep your aperture at during dance floor pics? With the 18mm, looks like you have it stopped down a bit to include more in focus. The Manfrotto light helps with this. Always wonderful work. Been following you for years.
@kevin_mullins
@kevin_mullins Жыл бұрын
Yes, the light is really to help with focus more than anything. If I can get away with it, I'll drop the aperture but often find myself shooting wide open.

Thinking out loud, why use the Monofroto and not an on or off camera flash? I’d think that having a constant light on would “bruise” the scene, making everyone aware of your presence. Cheers!

I shine the light then drop it to my waist or pop it in my pocket. Flashes are heavy and require constant adjustment of exposure. Plus batteries, plus recycle time etc.
@loganz
@loganz Жыл бұрын
I haven't shot with constant light before, but I assume during dancing when you are shooting at a higher ISO, the light can be dim since you'll only need a little bit of light and balances with the scene lighting anyway.

This is fantastic I hope you have the time and inclination to answer a couple of questions please? My photographer has let me down last minute as I get married on Saturday, so I have no choice but to shoot my own wedding! I plan to use my Fujifilm XE4 with a 16mm F2, and I guess plan on getting a view of my and my partner’s interactions throughout the day. At first It was quite daunting but now I’m looking forward to the challenge and perspective. I’ve shot weddings before and no my way around a camera, but I wonder how you would approach this scenario? What recipe would you recommend?
@martingreenberg870
@martingreenberg870 Жыл бұрын
I am so sorry your photographer pooped out on you with little notice. Multitasking is very difficult. How can you be the groom and the photographer at the same time? Your job at the wedding, as the groom, is to say “I do” and dance with the bride. This is a party with a ceremony toward the beginning of the day. How can you do bride/groom prep and take photos? How do you do the 1st dance and photograph it? I’ve never been married. I would guess during the day you are the co-star. How does the co-star participate in the event and take photos too? A daunting task to be sure. Taking photographs and feeling the emotions that are occurring seems impossible. A radical change of your mindset. I can’t imagine being the co-star of your day and documenting it too. Hope the the went well meaning you had a great time at your party and captured some important moments. I’ve seen in the film days guests being given disposable cameras to take images, especially at the tables, during the reception. Maybe ask your guests to take images lots of images, with their cellphone cameras. I understand because you are the co-star in this production there are things that go on without your knowledge. That is part of the photographer’s responsibility to capture during this event. Congratulations on your wedding. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
