Great job flying that little thing upside down. Make sure the viewers know that it is a "collective pitch" heli. Like you said the blade angles change that allows you to make in a sense negative lift :) as oppose to a fixed pitch heli. Nice job Im scared to get a 3d heli :)

Wow, watching someone learn reverse throttle 3d helis is extremely tense and entertaining. I still cannot comprehend how these pro 3d pilots make their brains comprehend reversing all the controls to fly upside down and in every orientation. 3d helis are the Dr degree in RC, I love watching them but I doubt I'll ever try learning it, except maybe in a sim

Hey RCSaylors! Think of the left stick controlling 2 things. 1) the throttle or how fast te blades spin 2) the pitch or the angle of the blades. In "normal" mode. stick down is throttle closed and pitch a little negative. In "3D mode" throttle going off while inverted is not convenient :). So then the left stick does not do much for the throttle. It stays on at constant speed. The pitch however has full range from full positive when pushed up, zero pitch at center stick and full negative pitch with stick down. This allows you to fly inverted. Only thing is... All those controls act as if they are reversed... But thats the learning part :) Throttle hold is for safety, autorotations and also to be able to check if the servo's do their thing correctly without spinning up. (pre flight check)

As an amateur heli pilot, here's some tips. To do flips, set your throttle to half power. Otherwise you cut motor power (or take off inverted!) and won't do the stunt right. To equate the controls to a race quad: Idle Up/inverted mode is Air Mode. Turning off stability is Acro mode. Throttle lock is disarming your motors. I dumped my 3D heli so hard I need to order a bucket of parts, but it's also a fragile bird...

awesome video! reminds me when i first got into flying 3d helis many years ago. it's a steep learning curve but with your skills it shouldn't take too long to get hang of it. throttle hold is for before you think your going to crash flip it so it shuts the motor off and hoping nothing breaks. the other switch is idle up mode, gives 100% power and the throttle only controls the pitch. keep it up!

Yes they will! The stress of only having ONE chance to get it right probably help bring on my heart attack back in "09". I had to retire from it. :-( I loved capturing the emotion and tears on the Brides faces and all her guests happiness for her on that special day. I dearly miss being behind a camera doing it, so I hope to land a few jobs this summer flying my Typhoon Q500 4k drone with some wedding video producers. I live in Louisville Ky now. Keep up the good work.

Just a word of encouragement, I've watched your videos and watched your family grow. God bless y'all, keep up the good work! The transmitter shipped with these copters is an incredible value and worth almost the price of the package by itself. I have the K-100, it's a great little helicopter. The transmitter uses Futaba protocol, and is easier to program than real Futaba radios.

@pjs1975101

Yes, the 110 is the best of the 3 XK helis. The 100 is brushed so will wear out faster than the 110. The 100 and 110 do not break as easily as the 120. The 120 usually lasts just a few crashes, then you have to buy parts. I've crashed my 110 dozens of times, and just had to replace the plastic gear.

I find inverted flying easier in the more "old fashioned 3-D mode" where in 3-D mode, the throttle varies in motor speed, but blade pitch can go from FULL negative pitch with throttle/collective pitch below 50%, but FULL positive pitch moving throttle/collective stick over 50%, but ALL OTHER controls remain totally un-affected but the 3-D switch.But then again, I started learning to fly R/C helicopters back in the 1980's, before the radio systems became computerized enough to start making the new 3-D heli pilots get MENTALLY LAZY when it comes to learning how to remember which controls "reverse" when flying inverted compared to when flying upright.
@MegaRico001
@MegaRico001 7 жыл бұрын
I like it best when NO controls get inverted. Just a pitch range from -12 to +12 and the governor keeping the headspeed. Cannot imagine how to do piro flips and such with reversing switching channels.
@bobleach2741
@bobleach2741 7 жыл бұрын
Nate, you should take off in normal mode. That will take you into hover at 50% throttle. throw the throttle hold switch and you can ignore the head speed. Then throw the 3d switch . dont drop the throttle though . imagine it a V you should have down and up from center throttle stick where hover will be centre throttle.. up and down is collective and left right forward back is cyclic. rudder (tail) is yaw as always.. still not easy

The throttle hold is mainly for when you're crashing. You don't want the blades under power if they're hitting something. It's like taking your car out of gear. If the blades are under much power it's adding much more force to the impact and damages the main crank shaft and parts related to it (the spinning expensive stuff).
@pjs1975101
@pjs1975101 7 жыл бұрын
Yes. Saves your motors from burning up too. Good idea for quadcopters as well. Turn those motors off just before you crash. Sometimes you can just tell you're going to crash. Try to flip that switch before you hit.

Like your videos. To trying to be rude by correcting you. It's not reverse throttle, its negative pitch that allows you to fly inverted. Typically it's called idle up mode in the heli world.

Throttle Hold should be user adjustable and ALWAYS be programmed so flipping the Throttle Hold switch totally cuts the motor power but leaves the pilot able to control main blade pitch to try auto-rotation... But I know of NO micro heli's with heavy enough main blades to maintain enough rotor inertia to be able to do an auto-rotation... Since the micro heli's don't usually have anyclutch to allow main blades to "free-wheel" without having to over-come the motor drag, if trying to "auto-rotate" with a micro, in most cases, the main blades will completely STOP MOVING in less time than it takes the heli to lose more than a few inches, if even a foot of altitude.

I bought a K110 and the yaw is way too sensitive in the middle where any throttle change also drastically affects the yaw. I cant find anyone to help me with this except that guy that wants to sell me his setup book. All the KZfaq reviewers said its so easy to fly, NOT MINE. My Volition V950 is easy to fly, maybe ill fix the antennae and stop worrying about 3D flight. Can ya give me any help?

I just got my K100 and in the first flight, it's take almost 100% throttle to make it take off, i don't know is it normal? all stock first flight, I didn't change any setting yet. during the flight, I'm always keep 100% throttle in case it will drop from sky if i down the throttle to 90%

Hey guys. Thank you for all you do. Would you mind checking out the AOSENMA CG035 Brush-less GPS 5.8G FPV? Or do you have any experience with it? It's a dual satellite quad copter and brags a lot of similar functionality to the Hubsan 501s
