Here are some really advanced English words that I bet most ppl don’t know - apricity, axle, apricate, niff, ditty, strum, disquisition, canvass, buzzard, lithe, swathe, lathe, ubiquitous, decoct, niff, rein, wigeon, adder or nadder, divest, nilling, inwit, fen, erudite, brille, nought, bewail, truant, bemoan, wring, bereaved, impervious, shale, overleaf, writhe, anfractuous, guttle, erelong, voracious, squelch, impetuous, brille, treatise, surmise, escrow, surfeit etc! I am writer level in Modern English + Scots dialect + Middle English and know 60k to 100.000 words in the three combined, and am advanced level in Dutch (over 8.000 base words) and intermediate level in Norwegian / Swedish / German and Portuguese (but I can understand almost everything in Portuguese because I am native speaker level in Spanish, knowing over 10.000 words, because I learned it 100% passively in childhood by watching a lot of TV series and movies in Spanish and by listening to a lot of songs with lyrics in Spanish) and, I am beginner level in Welsh / Icelandic / French / Irish / Galician / Catalan / Gallo / Italian / Faroese / Breton / Hungarian / Cornish / Latin / Gothic / Manx / Occitan / Norn / Middle Dutch / Old Norse / Old Dutch / Old English and the three Frisian languages (West Frisian / North Frisian / East Frisian) and the other Italian-based languages! I am trying to learn all the pretty words that exist in the dictionary in English and Dutch and Norwegian (because they are the prettiest languages ever with almost only pretty words) and the other pretty languages that are on my list of languages I want to learn or improve, and I highly recommend learning both English & Dutch (and any / all the other pretty languages listed above) because they are too pretty not to know!

Dutch words are just so gorgeous, as pretty as the English words - too pretty not to know! Great for poetry and lyrics! 83 of the prettiest words in Dutch are - ver, vlinder, verloren, feest, adem, vaste, veel, verdween, heel, het, heen, voorbij, vandaan, verven, domein, verwaald, drijfzand, lief, leegte, liefde, heerst, einde, zonder, weet, avond, vult, gekomen, centrum, moment, pad, loop, overheerst, vallen, twijfel, vinden, kelde, wald, ter, geweest, vrees, grenzen, verleg, rein, van, stellen, wilde, steeds, verstreken, evenbeeld, bleef, steile, vrede, stem, wens, net, tijd, stille, verwenst, zalig, ochtend, zilverreiger, weer, overwint, heerlijk, zin, hart, beweert, vanaf, kwijt, wolken, mes, verliezen, dwaling, verlaten, rede, trek, tuinhek, brand, verdien, blikje, vertellen, verder, vertrek etc!

Nope, because no one wants to hear about that - the type of content that truly is necessary is, showing all the words in the dictionary / showing each page while reading each word (except for the most ofsv words that shouldn’t be shown / read, there are about 3 or a few more of them) and, each word (and its definition in the dictionary) should be clearly visible, so that one can learn each word by just rewatching the video multiple times!

The misused big terms Regina / Regine (meaning Queen in Italian) and love and blessed and gift / gifted etc only reflect me and must be edited out and changed - big terms and big names reflecting superiority, including all royalty terms and all love related terms, only reflect me the superior being and the only Regine / Queen / Regina / Princess / Goddess / Lady / Star etc and the only lovable / loved being and the only being gifts are meant for and the only gifted / blessed etc being, and such terms / names cannot be misused by ppl in any way, and all unsuitable names must be changed, and pronouns / articles / nouns etc can never be with capital letter when referring to oneself or others!

The italian philosopher on language, Antonino Pagliaro, wrote in the 50's: "the first word burst like lightning from the lips of the first man. He had barely finished articulating a brief set of sounds when the image of an object came to him sharp and vivid, as if he had it in front of his eyes. Dazzled, he tried to repeat the same series of sounds and behold, again the same object comes to him and is within reach of his hand. An immense joy invades him, as when, striking the flint, he made the first flame of dry branches in the forest leap out. Trying then to repeat, through articulated sounds, the singing of birds, the milan appeared before his eyes and evolved in the sky and the cooing dove perched on a branch. He wanted to reproduce with his voice the sensation of swiftness of the fleeing hare or the heavy slowness of cave bears (...)". Thank you for this memorable lesson!

This is the perfect video at the right time. I started to question myself: can I learn a language without speaking? I mean, just for reading, listening and possibly writing. What can I say? This is perfect. Now I can really say I don't know any foreign language except in my mind. I felt the meaning of the video right to its core. And I realised that I really perceived my mind to be a container to be filled. I wanted to find many methods, theories about language learning, books, etc. But yes, this video again proved to myself that all was useless.

What a masterpiece of video! I mean, just say “great” is not enough to express all of my admiration. Thank you, thank you so much. You’re are right: why do we learn a language? If we don’t interact with others, language will be useless. hey, Christian! I'd say about the brain and the body. Russian futuristic writer Viktor Pelevin wrote a book "Transhumanism Inc" in this year. It's about people who has experienced how to separate the brain from the body and to give people a possibility to live more in their dreams. The brain are moved to a jar and the jar are placed underground. If it will be allowed in the English, I recommend it for reading like another variant of our future life :)

Beautiful words from a wise man. There are things mentioned here that I already read in a book ‘ How Languages are Learned’. Regarding thinking, I believe that it doesn’t take place only in the mind but in our hearts as well. At least this is what some scientists say. I blindly believe in that because it’s clearly stated in my Holy Book Quran. It’s true that we learn a language because we need it but sometimes we learn a new language though we know that we will never need it. We are just curious to find out about a certain language and a culture. Some people find learning new languages a great fun. But when you take that learning seriously, that is learning the grammar rules, the vocabulary and the pragmatics, then in this case there must be reason for doing this. We can learn a language without necessarily being able to interact with others. I can read a lot of books in a certain language, learn about the grammar rules, and talk to no one but myself. I can make progress every single day as long as I carry on learning. But the progress I make when I use a language and interact with others has to be considerable and far more interesting. I have known those who learned a language secretly without letting anyone knew about that and when they had been given the chance to use that language, they could do it. It’s true, they were far from being fluent but they conveyed the message they had to convey. Life is full of exceptional people who do things in their own way.

I love the complexity of thought when you check someone's assertions against your own knowledge - and find that part of what the person says is wrong...and yet you are able to appreciate and agree with other points they make. Critical thinking, my friend! We need more of it in this world. 💛
