Understanding acceptance (Hukam) and how we are deluded by the sense of control. Watch the full video here: • Living In Grace | Ever...
In this clip Satpal Singh uses the following examples:
Aladdin and the Ginie's magic lamp
Fish and the river
Verse from Sukhmani Sahib:
ਅਸਟਪਦੀ ॥
Asattapadhee ||
Ashtapadee:
Dhas Basathoo Lae Paashhai Paavai ||
He obtains ten things, and puts them behind him;
Eaek Basath Kaaran Bikhott Gavaavai ||
For the sake of one thing withheld, he forfeits his faith.
Eaek Bhee N Dhaee Dhas Bhee Hir Laee ||
But what if that one thing were not given, and the ten were taken away?
Tho Moorraa Kahu Kehaa Karaee ||
Then, what could the fool say or do?
Jis Thaakur Sio Naahee Chaaraa ||
Our Lord and Master cannot be moved by force.
Thaa Ko Keejai Sadh Namasakaaraa ||
Unto Him, bow forever in adoration.
Shabadh from Gurbani
Jo Maagehi Thaakur Apunae Thae Soee Soee Dhaevai ||
Whatever I ask for from my Lord and Master, he gives that to me.
Naanak Dhaas Mukh Thae Jo Bolai Eehaa Oohaa Sach Hovai ||2||14||45||
Whatever the Lord's slave Nanak utters with his mouth, proves to be true, here and hereafter. ||2||14||45||

Great speech. Alot of atheist punjabis born in sikh families do not accept the lords hukaum. Even those who wear religious garb and do bani like a parrot yet do not reflect and understand on what guru ji is talking about.

Awesome Veer Ji. A wonderful analogy of the fish and the river. Our tongue feels for the one lost tooth when the rest are intact. Our mind is like that. We are not happy and grateful for what we have, instead, we feel miserable for what we don't have. Guru's words of wisdom are eternal and applying them in our lives removes all the suffering. Wahe Guru Ji Ki Khalsa. Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh.🙏

11. The Master answered and said, “Once there lived a village of creatures along the bottom of a great crystal river. 12. “The current of the river swept silently over them all - young and old, rich and poor, good and evil, the current going its own way, knowing only its own crystal self. 13. “Each creature in its own manner clung tighty to the twigs and rocks of the river bottom, for clinging was their way of life, and resisting the current what each had learned from birth. 14. “But one creature said at last, ‘I am tired of clinging. Though I cannot see it with my eyes, I trust that the current knows where it is going. I shall let go, and let it take me where it will. Clinging, I shall die of boredom.’ 15. “The other creatures laughed and said, ‘Fool! Let go, and that current you worship will throw you tumbled and smashed across the rocks, and you will die quicker than boredom!’ 16. “But the one heeded them not, and taking a breath did let go, and at once was tumbled and smashed by the current across the rocks. 17. “Yet in time, as the creature refused to cling again, the current lifted him free from the bottom, and he was bruised and hurt no more. 18. “And the creatures downstream, to whom he was a stranger, cried, ‘See a miracle! A creature like ourselves, yet he flies! See the Messiah, come to save us all!’ 19. “And the one carried in the current said, ‘I am no more Messiah than you. The river delights to lift us free, if only we dare let go. Our true work is this voyage, this adventure.’ 20. “But they cried the more, ‘Saviour!’ all the while clinging to the rocks, and when they looked again he was gone, and they were left alone making legends of a Saviour.”

@@Saaraayee I understand. One day when challenged by the concept of never hearing a sound again you may appreciate all sounds. Or face the dismay of WAR in your land and the threat of being killed, you may welcome the sound of a child's "noise" over the screaming of people being killed. And maybe, just maybe before you move on to the next world you may consider the noise you made as a child 💡 😳🥺🥰. Peace

Beautiful analogy. Waheguru 🙏 Like any spiritual seeker, I have struggled with one thing for the past 15 years. That is, why am I not able to be present/alert enough to take naam throughout the day and live in that bliss consistently. I have also tried to accept the hukam and eventually failed at truly accepting it when it came to this point. However this analogy makes me see a whole new way for my spiritual practice and true acceptance for where I am on my spiritual journey. Many thanks 🙏

The actual story of the magic lamp is quite interesting. In this story, he has unlimited wished. Aladdin has pure intents, so all of his wishes come true. And the more he asks for blessings, the more he becomes wise, graceful and beautiful, as an after-effect of his infinite positive wishings.

Sat-Siri-akal Veer ji. A Very nice explanation. I get the concept of hukam that you have explained very nicely by using the river example. If we can never change the Outcome because it’s the hukam, then what is the purpose of ardas? Similarly chaipai sahib is a request or asking for. For a long time I have struggled with this and soI would appreciate if you could shed some light on this subject or point me in the right direction.

Veerji. I believe in Guru Granth Sahib ji . I have one question and it would be great if you can answer this one. Are we destined to marry with a specific person or it's our choices. What does sanjog means as per Gurbani.
@navkaur7341
@navkaur7341 4 жыл бұрын
Sanjog vijog due kaar chalawe lekhe awe bhaag. We have many incarnations and marry different souls as per our karma which we call in layman words as Lena Dena. We marry person with whom we have that Lena Dena until we ascend enough that we are worth to get the one whom we are really destined to .. who will not get connected materialistically but will help you connect Waheguru. Dhan pir so na akhean behen ikathe hoe, ek jot due moorti dhan pir kahean soe.
