You convert your CAD drawings into a template. For example, draw a line and a circle and an arc on the work area. Then select all of them and right click to open the popup menu. Choose "Resister as a template to repository". That's it!

@@77noahd Thank you for your feedback. There are many people using Leathercraft CAD on macOS with non-English/non-Japanese language settings and I have never heard this problem before, so this could be a rare case. I wanted to test it with my MacBook to see if you will be able to reproduce the same issue when I switch the language settings to Vietnamese but I couldn't find "Vietnamese" in the system language selections. Could you let me know which one should I choose for testing?

@@coffee-and-craft do u consider writing plugin for illustrator. Stitching mode and box stitching functions. The only thing i find difficult to use Ai is stitching holes

I appreciate your work and your presentation. Can you try to improve audio quality ? Many providers ignore their audio quality and they lose some viewers that way. Thank you for all though.

I checked the audio quality but I did not notice any big issue except the volume was a little lower than other videos. There is a slight static back ground noise from the air conditioner in this room, is that the one? Or Maybe you are talking about my Japanese English accent, haha. Anyway, please let me know the detail of the quality issue? If that is noise related, it will be great if you could give suggestion how to improve the quality. For recording, sometimes I use MacBook air or a studio microphone with audio interface. I forgot which one I used for this video though. Thank you!

Great work, and great idea. But how do I center two objects to themselves like Illustrator? How do I rotate a rectangle? Where's the scale button? This CAD is a good start but missing so much, and I see no English tutorials. I would buy this CAD but the only thing it seems to be good at is stitching lines.

Thank you for your feedbacks! Yes, this Leathercraft CAD is just released about a month ago, so it's like a baby right now. I will be adding more features based on the feedbacks from users like you. It may be a slow process since this is a personal project but hopefully I will be able to contribute to leather crafters all over the world. The alignment features and scale feature are already in my todo list. Please stay tuned! By the way, I have just released v1.1.0 today. I will start uploading English tutorial videos in a few days.

Hello, has anyone figured out what file type something needs to be to add it to the repository? I'm trying to make my own designs and add them as a template instead of a file I just open and print or add as a PDF every time. Thank you!

I know there are more Linux users in Europe but I have never met anyone using it in Japan or U.S. except for those IT related business people. I am making this Leathercraft CAD alone as a personal side project on top of my full time job so it's a bit hard for me to support even the macOS version... I will consider when I retire. But thank you for your feedback!

Currently there is no way to change the unit from mm to Imperial. I frequently used inches and feet for woodworking when I was in the US, but never used inches for leather crafting even though I started it when I was still in the US. Very interesting. So I started this Leathercraft CAD project under the assumption that the majority of US people are using metric for leather working, but I noticed that assumption might not be true. I still don't know which one is the majority but it seems there are many people working in Imperial unit in this area too. That's what I figured out recently. It might take long to support Imperial unit since all the functionalities are based on mm unit, but I will see what I can do in the future.

how are you zooming in and out? I see on your screen their is a magnifier glass that is not on the one I downloaded

You can zoom in/out using the mouse wheel. If you are using touch pad then usually it's two-finger swipe up or down but it depends on your device settings for scroll up/down.

I tried to download the program on my Mac OS. The system said it couldn't be opened because Apple can't check for malicious software. It said the software must be updated by the developer.

I just found your software and very excited to give it a try on my Mac. I found out though that "Leathercraft_CAD_v1.4.3_macOS_Intel" does not run on macOS Sonoma 14.2.1. It gives an error on launch: "LeathercraftCAD" can't be opened because apple cannot check it for malicious software. Please advise. Thank you!

Hello. I haven’t heard this issue from anyone yet. Which platform are you using? (Windows10? 11? 32bit, 64bit, macOS? Version, CPU type, language?, RAM size?). A little more details may help solving the issue.

@coffee-and-craft I'm running windows 11. I7-8750 processor, 4gb graphics card, 24gb memory, 1tb storage. I cleared a bunch of storage and got all my updates. Tried re installing the CAD program several times with no luck. It still freezes

Regarding Linux version, it's a bit hard for me to support Linux version on top of Windows and macOS since I am doing this project alone by myself and I don't have much knowledge about Linux. Sometime in the future I may make this software open-source so that someone will be able to port it to Linux.

You can disable Windows Defender from the right bottom task icons. Right click on the Windows Defender and select "Open security dashboard". From there, you can disable Windows defender. I have been checking all the installers with superior security software (Webroot) and confirmed there is no threats.

If you are using Windows with Windows Defender that might be the cause. It sometimes recognizes Leathercraft CAD installer as a malware. I always check the installers with other more reliable security software (Webroot) for both Windows and Mac and make sure they are safe. If you turn off Windows Defender before unzipping and turn it back on when the installation is done, you are ready to go.

Im not able to get a twitter account made. It wont let me send you a message. I am having trouble importing an SVG. Part of it seems to be the correct size while most of it is completely way to small. Can you do a tutorial on this please? Thank you

If your SVG is exported in inches or any units other than mm then it may require typing in the width multiplied by 25.4 when you imported an SVG file. If the default width say 10 then input 254. Other than that I can’t say anything without seeing the actual SVG. If you send me a SVG file by email I can take a look. My email address is written in the license agreement or the release note.

A Linux version would be good. You can run windows products via a program called wine. But it really is not efficient. Other wise this looks incredibly cool game changer.

I might support Linux in the future but sorry, as a personal project on top of a full time job, supporting Windows and macOS is the maximum that I can do for now. But thank you for being interested in Leathercraft CAD!

I downloaded the software and my antivirus shows it is malware.

As it’s written in the download page, some antivirus software such as windows defender recognizes Leathercraft CAD as a malware but I confirmed it’s a false alarm. I always scan installer file and Leathercraft CAD executable file with WEBROOT SecureAnywhere before uploading them. Just make sure that the MD5 hash of your downloaded file matches to what’s written on the download page. If yours shows different MD5 then that means someone had modified the installer.

I use LightBurn for my laser engraver and never had an issue with the exported files from Leathercraft CAD. But it doesn't necessary mean that there is no error. CTRL + clicking on the line type pallet of the top right of the application allows you to show/hide which line type to show. It is also effective to SVG export. You might want to try hiding things and which one is causing the error. Alterably, you can import the exported SVG into InkScape app and re-export from there. I never had an issue with InkScape before so there is high chance that your SVG will be able to imported into InkScape. In anycase, please let me know if you identified the root cause. I will fix it if the issue is on my end.

I have been intentionally growing this software at a slow speed by limiting access only from Japan for the first 6 months or so until it gets relatively stable. And I just released the English version a few months ago. I hope more people will find this and see values in it in the future as you did :-)
