Im a fire chief and we had 6 cases of fires in the last 11 years where a computer was the course of the fire. I will always recommend people to turn everything off if they leave their home.

But were they laptops with lithium batteries or desktops? Desktops rarely catch fire. Laptops or lithium batteries is another story. They cause many fires.

cutting my Pc,s off and on affects my network. i endup having to restart and in some cases reset the network access on my pc,s along with printers when i'm constantly cutting them off and on on a daily basis. Putting them to sleep has also caused network issues where i've had go in and reset the network and reinstall local printers. The only option i have is to log or sign out running them at systems level so they dont drop off the network switch. Also have not noticed any difference when cutting or sleeping them vs running them at systems level in sign out mode vs cost on electric bill. this applies to the windows machines and Macs that are connect to devices on my network. Also end up with drive errors when my cloud is turned off that has to stay on at full capacity.

do more monitors affect it much?
@godpop

obviously late but yes, pretty sure it's like 50watts a monitor (depending which ones you use)

@@godpop How much power would a 1440p oled monitor with 240hz consume? do hz make the monitor consume more? I would guess resolution would make a difference but that's just a guess
@godpop
@godpop Ай бұрын
@@notus97 you'd probably have to search up your exact monitor and use a kw consumption calculator but I would guess it's still 40 to 50watt (since yours is quite top tier)
