In this video, we finally reach the southern tip of Baja California Sur, Cabo San Lucas, after nearly a month in this overlanding heaven. The southern tip is popular for tourism, sport fishing, and the incredible sandy coastline. La Paz, La Ventana, Los Barilles, and Cabo San Lucas, as well as San Jose del Cabo, are all popular expat destinations. That means developed coastline and populated beaches. So after a short stop to celebrate completing the entire peninsula, I headed back to La Paz to put the old Land Cruiser on the ferry. We still found great camp spots along the way, with beautiful 4x4 off-road routes throughout.
Baja is over 1000km's long as the crow flies, so driving back up isn't practical. Fortunately, there are two ferry providers that take you from La Paz, BCS, to either Toplobampo or Mazatlan, in Sinaloa. These ferries run overnight and you arrive to the mainland the following morning. All in all, it was a great experience, and I was happy to finally be on the mainland heading for the rest of central America.

Thanks me too! I'm just trying to mull through all this older footage so I can connect it to Honduras and Guatemala, took a lot of footage there.

Whoa... Super sketch on that beach. Close call. A similar thing happened to me on some remote island in Thailand. I was in a little hot and I heard the water coming up all the way to little door but I was just overreacting because they wouldn't have put a hut there if it was going to be inundated with the tide. But still when you're sleeping it's still kind of freaky. Sweet vid.

Love the videos. When watching on KZfaq via Roku, the music is too loud, and it's hard to hear your narration.

Oil, in Mexico is 3 or four times the price of any California auto parts store, you could buy Mexican oil for way less money, at any Pemex gas station. Your rig is not a Mexican import, because Toyota started selling their vehicles in Mexico about 10 years ago, so parts for your vehicle are super hard to find, especially if is an Australian, or Japanese right hand drive.

Ah yeah the next time we just bought their in house brand oil, still expensive. Funny enough, they do import LOTS of these engines into Guatemala though, so we were able to find a new injection pump and a bunch of other parts there!

@@goaloneTV It is true, Guatemalans have the grace of being blessed with Toyotas for a long time, while Mexico gets the leftovers from GM and Ford, with bullshit quality, and inferior components, not to mention they favor brands like Renault, (France) and Seat (Spain) with shitty quality as well. I enjoyed your narrative about Baja California, which is still a nice place to travel to and surf.
