My name is Eric and I travel with my cats, “Tara” & “Opie” in a 24ft 2002 Ford Bigfoot Class C and tow either a 2014 lifted Smart Car named “Tater Tot” or my 2012 Harley Softail Slim named “Black Betty” in a 6x10 trailer. We travel about 35 miles a day chasing 70 degrees year-round since 2010.

Ive said this in 4 other comments: the onan requires a FIRMWARE UPDATE you need a certified tech to update it and your problem will be solved.

Eric is the guy that decided to tear the crap out of his door and door lock because he couldn’t get in, instead of going through the passenger side and removing it from that vantage point. He Frankensteins every vehicle. That’s just who he is.

You are half right.... there are genuine values in generators over the Honda. This thing just isn't one of them. The WEN 3600 seems to be a really good value. That Genmax will continue eating metal until it dies in the near future.

Advice needed from generator experts...is there as much a thing as a quiet one that can do around (but no less than) 3800 watts? Everyone I talk to says ALL are Loud!

@@WeSRT4 Excuse me for asking. My Onan in my Class C runs just fine, but cannot yet afford a battle born battery bank. Just looking for redundancy JIC until solar is possible & old Onan dies. Thus the info found in reviews vs. Ppl's opinion of which external genny may not be so obnoxiously loud. But judging from the answer, I can assume everyone, er, everything is obnoxious.

You can get a pipe welded to the generators muffler, then cut a square hole in side of the trailer, install a vent and then you never have to pickup the generator, just start it up in back of the trailer.

We had a problem with our new Onan also (5k). After a bit of investigation, we found that it was the inside control panel. It would run well for 10-15 minutes, then shut down. One of the relays in the panel was opening when it got warm/ hot and the gennie would die. Our technician said it was the first time he’d seen that. Been working fine now for 4 years. Happy Birthday Kitty.

Those are high gsin antennas on the router. You can find them for most routers, but they were popular because of size. Mainly used in fixed installation to cover a building, or campground.

Had a similar problem with the door, went to a local locksmith shop and they installed a deadbolt that solves the problem, dont even use the old lock anymore, just use the latch....

I am confused about the Onan generator that came with your vehicle. Wasn’t it under warranty since it was brand new? If you have time, would you please clarify this? Otherwise, if you are not going to use it, you could always sell it and have you considered that?

Eric, we've been using the genmax generator for over a year. We have about 800 hours on it already and it's worked great for us. We actually did a review video of it back in March of 23. We got 3300 but it's identical to the 3200.

The rain this year is insane here in Indiana as well. It literally rains every OTHER day, so I still can't mow because the yard is like a wet sponge so the yard looks like pure crap. Happy Birthday Tara by the way!

I have the same generator in the electric remote start version. The starter crapped out in a month on the 1st one. Took about a month or more but they eventually sent me a new one. 2nd one is working well after 6 months.

I Set a card table up over my generator. Someone times with a table cloth over part of the table. If you are at a campground you can just use the picnic table. And put a table cloth on the picnic table.

@@JMlovesDDM not many. school buses are built on a similar chassis as semi trucks. Plus they are built a lot safer than a normal RV. School Buses are built pretty much like a big roll cages. They have to meet a bunch of safety standards to school transportation. Like if you get into a roll over in a school bus the Roof will not fall in on itself etc.

Just saying they run the small Cummins , which is a great engine , but the routes they drive demand heavy stop and go which is very hard on them .Not bashing buses , if you get a good one they can last much longer than the average RV .When young , my wife and I moved and lived in , until we got situated , a '64 Ford 40 passenger school bus . Sorry , it was all white , no psychedelic flowers !

Dammit Eric,please come to Florida,we are way under our quota. We are barely getting any meaningful rain in months. Oh as an old Cummins guy,can’t go wrong with the Cummins 24v. But better yet was the 5.9L Cummins 12-Valve 6BT. Those are the holy grail. Keep looking you’ll find something that will take the daily pounding you give your rv’s.

AWWWW, QUITCHERBITCHIN, Here in the Redwood country our annual rain year has just ended. Oct1 to May1 we got 80". Our annual normal is 55. Our favorite color here is Grey. !

Where I am we have had around 200 MM of rain so far and most of that was at the start of the year in the summer, we had about 1mm in the past few days but now its pretty dry. Meanwhile up in Sydney and parts of Queensland they are copping it again. temps have been around 23.C not bad for close to winter hehe.

Try taking a 1/8 of a quart of oil out. It worked for me. It stays running all the time now.

In the construction trades for 30 years and going through many many generators of all makes and sizes including Honda’s Cummins generac etc. we have burned up just as many tools and chargers with a Honda as any other one and in no way does a Honda last any longer for the price that Honda wants they just are not worth it
