It should be pretty easy to study how many % of the population has what type of paraphilia. If the issue is that they want to stay anonymous, then researchers can use online and/or in person surveys and give each subject their own private numerical identity. That way you can collect surveys privately and the people being studied could give authentic responses without being afraid.

Is there any help for someone with all of these? Is there any medicine that can help them not want to touch people? Should they be aloud to be in society? What is the best way to handle someone that has been diagnosed with it?

Absolutely not. It's a problem that has occurred for centuries and will continue to do so for eons, unfortunately. If the perpetrator does not want to change, then there is nothing you can do. What you can do is educate yourself on these issues, teach your significant others and children this info and teach them how to spot them and to protect themselves. That's why I am a firm believer in the 2nd amendment. It also would not hurt to teach your children, especially females, to carry some protection (pepper spray, etc) and how to defend themselves.

Anyone should be allowed in society if they are actively seeking support and treatment.

'Most ppl with paraphilias are hetero men' ... the population if hetero men is larger than gay men...therefore it would be expected that there are more hetero men with paraphilia....

That's an easy mistake to make. The video is talking about the _rate_ of paraphilic disorders within a population, not the total _quantity_ that exist. It's saying that if you took a random sample of 1,000 heterosexual men and 1,000 homosexual men, then counted how many of each has a paraphilia, we would expect more of the paraphilic individuals to be heterosexual. Looked at another way, it can be measured as the _probability_ that any random man you pick out of a crowd will have a paraphilic disorder. If you choose a random guy, and that guy happens to be straight, he has a certain probability of being paraphilic, say 3/100 or 3%. But if you choose a random guy and he happens to be gay, the chance that he's also paraphilic is smaller, maybe 1/200 or 0.5%. (These numbers are just for example, they are *not* the real statistical values.)

Can someone go to jail for this?
@nbuchana7212 жыл бұрын
Yes, many of the paraphilic disorders would be criminal offenses if the person acts on the urge/impulse with someone that does not or cannot consent to participate. The critical issue is whether or not everyone involved is an adult who is fully able to actively consent to participate in the sexual activity. If the other party(ies) is not able to fully consent and not a legal adult, it is likely a criminal offense.
