Ladies and Gentlemen do NOT do what this fellow just did. The electrical box shown in the video in the ceiling is NOT meant for fan support and is plastic. Not only that, the box is supported by three small tabs that are holding onto the drywall, nothing else. Please make sure you’re mounting a ceiling fan on a metal electrical box that is supported by a joist in the ceiling. If the maker of this video sees this comment, I mean no disrespect, but I am a licensed electrician, and only watching out for you and future viewers. I’ve seen many fans come loose and fall after some time after being installed like this.

Thanks for the comment. Luckily, my ceiling fan has not come loose yet. However, your comment caused me to look further into ceiling boxes and fan support.
