@@ceilingfans101 Thanks for the follow up. The short answer is that I managed to get the fan installed thanks to your video. I did not even look at the manual. The only thing the threw me off is that I have 2 hot cables (Red and Black) from the ceiling and the fan only has 1 red cable. The solution was to use one of the 2 from the ceiling + the white cable + ground and it worked perfectly. Thank you !!! 😀

Thanks for the great video! Our previous fan was a two switch set up. One for the light and one for the fan. With this fan, the remote works for both the light and fan. Now only one switch controls the light and fan together. I have black, white, copper and red coming out of the ceiling. The fan only has the red and white. Any recommendations to get both switches working?
@ceilingfans101
@ceilingfans101 3 жыл бұрын
We would suggest just connecting the receiver to the house black as shown in the video and not connecting it to any switches. With this fan, the receiver remembers the last setting for the fan and light. If you connect it to a switch, every time you turn the switch on/off, the light will change to the next color temperature and you will need to select the color temperature again. Connecting the receiver directly to the house power (black) avoids this issue. At most, you could connect the receiver to one standard on/off toggle switch, but again, the light control would be affected. We would not recommend setting this fan up with 2 switches.

@ceilingfans101
@ceilingfans101 2 жыл бұрын
Technically, the fan's receiver can be wired to a standard on/off toggle style switch which would allow you to turn the fan and light on/off at the same time. We don't recommend using a switch because if the switch is turned off/on too quickly, it could cause the color temperature of the light kit to change. For optimal operation, the fan should only be controlled with the remote.

Great video. One of the best I've ever seen. I have a question for my particular installation. It seems I have a red and black wire coming from the ceiling. I capped off the red and used the black wire from the ceiling, and attached it to the red wire from the module...but, when I use my remote, I can here a clicking sound in module but the fan itself won't cycle. I'm stumped at this point! Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thank for watching. Please make sure that the plug from the receiver is completely connected to the plug from the receiver and that all other wires connections are securely/completely connected. Sometimes, wire connections can loosen or disconnect during the installation. If that does not resolve the issue, we would suggest calling Home Decorators Collection customer service at 1-800-986-3460. Their team is pretty good at troubleshooting over the phone.

I’m installing this fan while watching this awesome video. But my question is on my previous fan i had a separate switch between the fan and the light. Not exactly sure how to proceed from there. Should i connect to just one black and one white? And just kill one of the switches?
@ceilingfans101
@ceilingfans101 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. We would recommend wiring the receiver directly to the house constant power wire (black) and just capping off the switch wire. The fan is not recommended for use with any switches due to the color changing LED. The LED has a memory to remember the color temperature setting and if connected to a switch, the light color temperature may change each time the switch is turned off/on.

@ceilingfans101
@ceilingfans101 4 жыл бұрын
Sorry in advance for the novel i'm about to write. I would just double check that all of wiring is connected correctly. If wired to a wall switch, make sure that there is only one power wire connected to the fan. I'm not a licensed electrician (and you should consult with one if in doubt), but typically, a red wire is a switch wire and the house black is the constant supply wire. For trouble shooting purposes, i would wire the fan as instructed in the video and see if the fan works properly without the switch. If it works properly without the switch, the issue is the switch. If the wall control is a fan speed and light control, the issue would be with the switch. If wiring to a switch, the only acceptable switch would be a standard on/off style toggle switch. Hope that helps.

Hey! Thanks for the video. I need some help. I have two of these fans in my apt and the remotes are wonky. The remote in the room will activate both fans when i onlu want to control the one. I see that theres frequency settings but idk where to start. Also any tips for why either of these doesnt actually dim? Its either on or off. Just moved into this place, these are the fans installed.
@ceilingfans101
@ceilingfans101 Жыл бұрын
Each remote and receiver pair needs to be set to a unique dip switch setting to ensure that each remote only controls the intended fan. This is covered at the 4:06 mark. Since the fans are already installed, you will have to remove the canopy ring by twisting coutnerclockwise, and then unscrew 2 of the standard screws and loosen but not remove the 2 screws in the J slots. Then, you will be able to twist the motor housing to remove it from the mounting bracket which will give you access to the receiver. To dim the lights, press and hold the light button on the remote. While holding the button, the light will cycle from bright to dim to bright again. Release the button once the desired brightness level is reached.

@ceilingfans101
@ceilingfans101 3 жыл бұрын
For this fan, we recommend connecting directly to the house wiring and not using a switch. The remote receiver has the memory function and using a switch will cause the light color temperature to change each time the switch is turned off/on.

@ceilingfans101
@ceilingfans101 4 жыл бұрын
Let me start by saying that i am not a licensed electrician, and you should probably consult with one to figure out any wiring issues. Ok, with the discalimer out of the way, it sounds like the fan is not wired to the wall switch. The wiring described in this video and in the manual is for standard installation, connecting the receiver power wire to the house black wire. If your wall switch is wired to the outlet box is located in the ceiling, your house wires should be black, white, bare copper, and red (switch power wire). If you wired the fan's receiver as instructed in this video, the red power wire would not have been used. If you have a red power wire, connect the receiver power wire to the red wire and cap off the house black wire. That should allow you to use the wall switch to turn the fan and light on/off. The fan and light will need to be turned on initially using the remote, then you can use the switch to turn both on/off at the same time. Again, if you have any issues with wiring, you should contact a local licensed electrician.

I’m having trouble with my remote, I purchased two of these fans but somehow the remotes are connected so when I turn off the light in one room the other does as well, any fixes?
@ceilingfans101
@ceilingfans101 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, super easy fix. Change the dip switch settings in the remote and receiver in one of the fans. This is covered at the 4:21 mark. The dip switches can be set to any combination of up or down as long as the settings in the remote and receiver match. This will change the frequency of the remote.

Great video. Finished one fan and Adding a second fan but, for this one, the ceiling has extra wires. Ceiling: Ground, white, black and red. Fan: ground, white, and red. How do I wire this?
@ceilingfans101
@ceilingfans101 Жыл бұрын
We would suggest just capping the red wire from the ceiling and connecting the receiver red wire to the house black wire. We are not licensed electricians and can not advise on specialty wiring and would suggest contacting a licensed electrician if you are not sure about the wiring. That being said, typically, a red wire is a switch wire. If that is the case, if the switch is a standard on/off switch, you can connect the receiver red wire to the house red wire and cap off the house black wire. That would allow you to turn the fan and light on/off using the switch. Please note that if connected to a switch, the light's color temperature may change if the switch is turned off then on rapidly (within 4 seconds).

We followed this video like you showed. Except, there is one step that should have been opposite than the way you showed. Wiring the Fan at 5:45. When you have the fan hanging, it's very difficult to see the wires, much less trying to twist then together. If you wire the remote to the wires coming out of the ceiling, then hook the fan and let it hang, then snap the connection together. We couldn't do it they way you showed. I didn't think I would ever get the connection UN-snapped, so I could do it the Smart, easy way. It's a lot less STRESSFUL, to do it they way I just said. That's the only part of the video that we didn't like or agree with. The guy that installed it here, should have caught that and edited the video. Other than that , it's a good video. Experience is a great teacher. I'll know the next time !!

The light is controlled by 2 different buttons. The light on/off/and brightness is controlled by the light button on the left side. The color temperature is controlled by the CCT button to the right of the light button. To dim or increase the brightness of the light, press and hold the light button. While holding that button, the light will cycle through its brightness settings. Relase the button once the desired brightness level is reached. To change the color temperature of the light, press and release the CCT button. The light has 3 options: 2700K, 3000K, and 5000K. Great video! Do you have to change the factory settings to get the dimmer to work on the remote? I left the all on (from the factory & control box) and can't get the dimmer switch to dim the lights? Appreciate the help.
@ceilingfans101
@ceilingfans101 4 жыл бұрын
The dip switches will not affect the light dimmer. I would suggest making sure that all of the wir connections are complete. To dim the light, you need to press and hold the light button on the remote.

Thanks for getting back to me. That's what I figured but the dimmer would not activate no matter how long I pressed the dimmer button. All it did for me was turn the light on and off. Did call the helpline and after much review, I was told the dimmer would not actually dim the lights at all, and that's why the different mode light changes are for. Everything else worked. I'm glad your dimmer operates correctly. All wiring is good and decided to take it back. Thanks for your reply.

Just curious, since the dimming was not showed on the video, were you able to dim the lights pretty low? I like my light in my master bedroom soft and low. Also, I did use the power source from my current dimmer switch and did switch it to the high as possible setting.. Maybe this had an effect on why the remote wouldn't dim at all? Wondering if I would have had better luck in using a standard light switch? Thanks for your help.

it may help to knock lightly around the edges (like knocking on a door). Then push up a bit when trying to untwist the light shade. It also may help to wear rubber or latex gloves and hold the shade on the outer edges.

Thanks for the great video.. Can you please help me identify the problem for a clicking sound. Mine was working fine for a week until the clicking sound started. Do you have any recommendations on what to do? TIA.
@ceilingfans101
@ceilingfans101 4 жыл бұрын
Most clicking can be attributed to loose parts or wire nuts tapping inside the motor housing. Make sure the wires are tucked into the mounting bracket and outlet box to ensure they do not tap against the inside of the motor housing. Also, make sure the blades and the light kit are completely tightened. If those tips don't help, we would suggest calling Home Decorators Collection customer service at 1-800-986-3460. Their team is pretty good at troubleshooting.

It sounds like the outlet box may not be completely tightened. If all other hardware is completely tightened, the outlet box seems like the only issue. If that does not resolve the issue, we would suggest calling Home Decorators Collection customer service at 1-800-986-3460. Their team will be able to get more information to help troubleshoot.

Is the light installed and connected? If you are trying to test after making the wire connections, the fan will not operate until the light kit is connected. Also, make sure that if the fan is connected to a switch, that the switch is turned on. You can have up to 16 of these fans in the same home all operating at different frequencies. If you have 2 fans, you will need to change the frequency of one of the remote/receiver pairs to make sure the remote only controls the intended fan. This is covered in the video at the 4:20 mark.

Can anyone please tell me if your light has a 3 second delay when turning on with light switch and remote?
@ceilingfans101
@ceilingfans101 2 жыл бұрын
We do not recommend installing this fan's receiver to a light switch. There will be a delay between turning the switch on and the fan/light turning on. This is to ensure that the receiver does not suffer a power surge. Also, we don't recommend using a light switch with this fan because it could cause the color temperature of the light to cahnge each time the switch is turned off/on. The light has a memory to remember its last setting and using a switch may erase the memory since power to the fan/light will be cut off.

How can I wire this to control the light and fan from their independent wall switches?
@ceilingfans101
@ceilingfans101 4 жыл бұрын
Technically, it can be done, but we wouldn't recommend installing this fan to separate switches. The main reason being that if you wire the fan directly to switches, you will lose the ability to change the color temperature of the light. If you must have the fan wired to switches, you will just need to cut the quick connect wire harness plug from the end of the fan wires. The black wire is the fan speed power, the blue wire is the light power wire adn the white wire is neutral. If you have any questions about the wiring, we would recommend calling a licensed electrician. Please note that you can not instal this fan to use both the remote and wall switches. Doing so will damage the fan's receiver.
@SarahNissen

Did you end up cutting off the remote quick connect? That's what I'm thinking of doing, since I don't really care about the light color.

Each remote and receiver pair need to be set to a unique dip switch setting so that each remote only controls the intended fan. This is covered in detail in the video. Fast forward to the 4:06 mark "Preparing the remote and receiver"

@ceilingfans101

The best way to operate the fan and light is to use the remote and not use a wall switch. If you use a wall switch, the color temperature may change each time the switch is turned off/on. There is no way to change the default setting.

Please help! My Ashby Park ceiling fan receiver only has 3 wires: white, black and yellow (that's the antena). And my ceiling only has 2 wires: black and yellow. Which wires should I connect together?
@ceilingfans101
@ceilingfans101 2 жыл бұрын
We really can't answer without knowing what the yellow wire is. We would suggest calling a licensed electrician to make sure the wiring is connected correct. The wiring from the house should have a hot wire (typically black) and a neutral wire (typically white). The yellow may be a neutral wire, but it could also be a switch wire. Sorry we can't be more help.

Watch the video at the 4:06 mark (preparing the remote and receiver). That section shows how to change the frequency if you have 2 of the same fan. You just need to set the dip switch settings for each remote. That will ensure that each emote only controls the intended fan.and receiver pair to a unique setting. That will ensure that each remote only controls the intended fan.
