Tutorial on how to use the built-in LEDBlinky wizard to get you up and running QUICK!!! One important note: ITS BEST TO START FROM SCRATCH AND REINSTALL LEDBLINKY IN A FRESH DIRECTORY! Backup your configs and then delete the existing install

Great tutorial Adam.. what I still find puzzling is what to do if I just want the buttons to stay a static color or a basic color scheme all the time without flashing or doing one of the crazy animations.. kind of like how the rgb buttons are when u choose a game but have it in use when not choosing games. Can u break down how to do that? Like have the turtles color scheme for all my buttons when not active in a game? thanks and stellar work as always

I also noticed a static scheme in your Golden tee bluestacks tutorial.. perhaps if I could see how those buttons were configured for rgb..

Yes! So a little counter intuitive but this is actually done as an ‘animation’ in animation editor…at least that’s how I did it. If you make a single frame animation and set all your buttons to the colors you want, then save it as an lwax file extension you can then go into ledblinky config and chose that ‘animation’ as the default for pause, running the front end software, etc whatever conditions you want it to appear for. If you notice my 4/player4/color layout that’s exactly what I’m doing.

Ok thanks for the quick response! I will try working with the animation editor.. how did u import the golden tee into launchbox so I can trigger ledblinky. it's not a windows game or steam so I'm confused on the import process..

@@ArcadeAdam ok I got what u said but certain buttons are blinking by default even on a new animation??? Existing lay file Gen by the wizard or a new one.. why would a button blinking by default?

Any tips for keeping your escape and admin buttons lit? The 3 above your trackball. I’m trying and for the default ones it works but for games that have colors associated with them my admin buttons don’t stay lit.

I have 2 ipac ultimate IO controllers, when I was setting up the LED blinky I only had one ipac connected to map all the buttons to LED blinky. However when I tried to do the other ipac controller (unplugging the one I already did) led blinky wizards states that it's already mapped and that it will wipe the setup if I continued. Any idea how I can make led blinky map both ipacs without overwriting the other? Any help is appreciated.

Hey Adam, sorry if this has been asked but where did you get the LED Tmolding and about how much do you need to wrap the control panel? Thanx 🙏🏻

I had that ammount of LED t-molding left over from another project but I would estimate 6ft minimum, but since that stuff is hard to work with and can break (it broke twice on me for the control panel) I wouldn't order less than 10ft. LEDs are the COB RGB WS2812B addressable 5v kind. Using WLED controllers since they can handle 900+ LED effects

Does led blinky in attract mode only work if you have a secondary led controller? I have 2 pacLED64s and everything works smoothly except once it goes to attact mode all the buttons stop working. Im using big box btw. Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks UPDATE: Nevermind, they just don't call it attract mode in the config. They call it screen saver animation.

Great overview. Quick question. I’m planning to change to led buttons on my control panel. I currently have buttons going to am iPac 2….. to add the led lights … what else do I need to get from ultimarc to power and enable the lights?

You need an led controller like a pacled 64 since you already have an ipac? Or if you have an ipac ultimate that has an RGB led controller built in

So where are these per-game button colors stored? I've checked list.xml, controls.ini, controls.xml and there are just labels there, no colors.

Is there a way to set up different colors for specific emulators? Like for Dreamcast for example have the buttons same color as the Dreamcast controller?

Yep! Just set a default profile for the entire Dreamcast system and set your colors

Is the RGB Tmolding a mod you did? If so where did you get it?

I get the t-molding from t-molding.com, RGBs came from aliexpress since I haven't seen them make it to amazon yet, search for 3m strands that have 900+ LEDS, they are called COB RGB LED strips WS2812 addressable.

@@ArcadeAdam to each their own 😜. Big box is on my laptop, Hyperspin all the way for me on my arcade build 🤣. Ended up using EDS to run Ledblinky and it worked like a charm 😁.

not specifically, the layout was an idea of another extremehomearcades.com customer: Scantron5k. He made a video on it: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bp2IlsypmdyRYac.html I was very skeptical at first but over a year later I wouldn't change a thing!

Hey guys any idea why certain leds are blinking when I create a new layout in the animation editor or just work with the one layout generated by the wizard.. button 1 fram 1 Is static color but double click button 2 and it's blinking.. certain buttons seem to be set to blink somewhere??? Please help

It can be hard to track this down because LEDBlinky has so many events that can trigger an animation. Try using the troubleshooting app, it actually loads your real config and asks you questions about desired behavior to track down double entries and such

Only a select few of my led buttons stay lit constantly and colors are constant but not the colors I want. I'm using 2 ipac ultimates. Is there a setting on the ipacs or led blinky where I can set a permanent constant lit color for each button, then have animations on Launch box load?

Yep! When I talk about establishing a layout you can set a default color scheme. Personally I set each player all buttons to one color

@@ArcadeAdam So, I created the layout and assigned colors to each button but the colors did not actually change the colors on the actual buttons on the CP. The animation I created works fine once into the FE, but still not able to provide constant lighting when not in Launchbox. When I activate led blinky outside of the FE, a few lights turn on white, but most are off. Pretty stumped.

Is there a community where people are storing these alternate mappings (corrections) so that not everybody has to go in and manually change what they have maybe they can bulk copy?

Not that I have found, every machine is different when it comes to LEDBlinky so its had to share configs.

Why do you use 4:3 stretched themes? A guy named mrfomts converts everything to 16:9 and everything will be in the correct aspect ratio, not a caricature like yours. BTW. by the way, I don't even know if you are aware that it's stretched?

😂 2on2 Open ICE NEVER had YELLOW buttons, they were always WHITE like NBA Jam & NFL Blitz. It also didn't have White Player Start buttons either. They should be orange with black rings.
