Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

It would probably be more appreciated if they had added a couple more of the non album released tunes to it like: -Travelling Riverside Blues -Hey Hey What Can I Do -The Girl I love She Got Long Black Wavy Hair -Bron-Yr-Aur (held back 5 years till Physical Graffiti -Finished "St. Tristan's Sword" and put it on there too, and removed "Hats Off to (Roy) Harper"

I had a dog from the age of 13 to 25 who saw me through the end of grade school, through high school, and through university. We walked every day in the forest and field behind our house for years, rain, snow and sunshine. She was my best friend. She died the summer after I graduated. No dog I ever had or will ever have again will be quite like her. We were kids together and when she passed I was an adult. She was my constant companion through the entirety of my growing up. It's been 17 years now and she still sits in my heart like a big blossom of love. I've got tears running down my cheeks just writing this. I’ll love you forever Zoe! 🥰

Nothing like the joy and love of your first dog! Just watch the video of kids reuniting with a lost dog, kids breaking down and crying with joy that their loved one is home. There is a lot that goes into raising a child, parents, home, school, community etc. But a child that was raised with pets will always be a more rounded adult, in my opinion. I grew up near my grandparents farm and my family all lived in the same town. We would always be at the farm because we could play in the barn, drive the tractors around and later as teenagers we had our dirt bikes (motorized), but me, my brothers and my cousins always had our dogs. Now my grandfather could barely keep all the grandkids names in order on a good day and heaven forbid if he got mad at you, he would have to run through all the names until he finally got the right one, then he could yell at you. So he had no chance with all the dogs. So every dog he came across was called fleabag. My grandfather was the sweetest man and his sour demeanor was always a put on. He loved us kids! So ever since his passing way back in the 80s I have named everyone of my dogs "Fleabag" in his honor. And yes I have to tell this story every time someone asks me for my dogs name, I usually get a smile out of them.

I cry reading this. I am so sorry for the loss of your Dog. But what a wonderful Companion. I will be at a loss when I Lose one of my pets. They are my life. I actually want to die before them. I am 47 now. Not much more to live for anymore. I would probably die from a broken heart.

When I watched the video, I saw my Kayleigh's eyes looking back at me in the dog picture. Merles are extraordinary animals, smart, loving, loyal, and protective. Each night, Kayleigh would go up the stairs to check on my kids when they were small, even when she developed bone cancer in her spine. She was the best companion and I miss her dearly.

my life in the three years has done nothing but go downhill since my good boy died three years ago. it was a year before I stopped expecting him to greet me at the door when I get home... I have contemplated suicide, stopped dating, stopped taking care of myself, and gained 20 lbs. And at least once every month or more I second guess myself about not getting him put down and I will forever blame myself....

@@LovesMike33 I was 50 when my good boy died.... the last 3 years have been the darkest I have ever known. I dont even know who I am anymore.... he was my life, he was like my eternal 3 year old toddler.... my son... and now he is gone.

I had my dog, I had him when I was 11 until I was 25, we both grew up together, we were 2 kids, I finished college, my first job, he watched my relationships come and go, and he died 1 year ago, it still hurts but I think it's the price of a love so pure, miss you always Toby.

I can’t believe he will not be longer here keeping me company while I work on the vineyards… playing with my little sister. He loved her more than he loved himself. An underrated Led Zeppelin classic. It wasn't until a month ago that I listened to LZIII, as I just assumed from the reviews of the album that "Immigrant Song" was the only good song, and that everything else was folky, and therefore not good. Boy, was I wrong! This whole album is loaded with classics and bangers, this song included!

I am 63 and grew up on Zepplin...first record I bought was age 14 and it was Led Zep 2.......for the first time ever I discovered this song is about a dog...lol......now I can enjoy it even more while I sing it to my two year old Dobermann...

I have a green-eyed Australian shepherd and he isn't a merle. I got into the habit of singing, "ain't no companion like a green-eyed tri!" at the blue-eyed merle line. I can't stop singing it that way!!

While we all deconstruct the lyrics I'm wired by Jimmy's total mastery of the guitar. It's not just me is it? For those that don't know, this was recorded (or written, not sure) in an old old cottage in Wales, hence Bron Y Aur, the name of the cottage. I think. With Roy Harper at the controls. It's not surprising the more folky vibe came out, Wales is truly jaw dropping in it's beauty. Then you see the coastline, even more stunning.

I used to play this (badly,) one night we were partying circa 1976 and I started playing. My pal was in the kitchen making "soup." Well, he started hitting the underside of the cutlery drawer with his knee and punching the worktop with his fist.......We WERE Led Zeppelin! He WAS John Bonham!!

All about Roberts parents cottage. In Snowdonia. A perfect escape to connect with nature. Write songs. And mostly about Roberts beautiful dawg...He Always loved Wales, and dogs. This song is about his dog....nature, a beatiful old cottage. A haven, after the crazy world of Led Zep. Robert and Jimmy wrote Stairway to heaven in that Cottage.Bron-Y- Aur. Means the " sun shines on" or something like that in welsh...A very special place for Robert.

God I miss my dog so much. She was my sister, my baby for 13 years. We just lost her earlier in February 2021. Seeing her fade away, grow weak, her eyes go cloudy, it broke my heart so badly. I've thought about her and miss her every single day.

I had a brown lab named buster when I was around 6. I would sit on a skateboard and he would pull me and somehow knew never to pull too quickly. He was my best friend and even years later, I can still hear him barking from the tree line.

Many, many thanks for posting this classic from the Led Zeppelin III album. In my opinion, every single track on this album is truly a masterpiece. Although the (untitled) Led Zeppelin IV has several enduring tracks including, of course, the profoundly amazing Stairway to Heaven, in my opinion Led Zep III is a fuller, richer, more engaging and virtuoso work. Come on Jimmy, Robert and John Paul, do another gig! How about The Royal Albert Hall and let more fans see you, unlike the farce at O2 where the only people who got tickets were luvvies in showbiz!!! You know it makes sense. I'd be right glad see you guys in concert!!!

Love this song used to sing it to my dog to calm her when we got caught out in storms when she was young. I had to say goodbye to my Violet 8 days ago I'm listening with tears in my eyes. The finest dog I knew, so fine.
