Start to Finish, casting to shooting the Lee 311-100 in the 7.62X25mm. I cast the bullets, powder coated, sized and loaded them with Accurate #7. All surplus handguns are different and this may not work in your gun. Please be careful if anything in this video is duplicated. Thanks for watching.

One you get the hang of casting and get to know the alloys, you will find that buying commercial bullets is unnecessary for almost 98% of your shooting. it is a real money saver and also builds your understanding of ballistics, plus you shoot more often increasing your Marksmanship skills. anyway good video dude-Dave

Fantastic video, sir. I just begun reloading again after a 6+ year hiatus (starting with .30 Luger) and that lead me here. Thanks for the perspective!

Great video. Love the Tokarev cartridge. I shoot a CZ-52, so higher velocities are required to cycle the gun. I loaded Starline brass with the 90 GR XTP & 2400 powder. I am getting a mold though!

That’s a great gun and cartridge. Good groups too. My 5 gal bucket filled with rubber mulch works great for pistols and keeps the bullets intact.👍🏻

I ordered a .311-93gn rn 6 cavity Lee mold for my Yugo M-57. I haven't casted them yet. I'm still using my 100 gb JHP bullets. It's nice to see someone else loading 7.62x25 here. I'm looking at buying a Polish pps-43C in the same caliber. I'm overwhelmed with the reloading I have to do. I'm working on some 5.56 right now. I have 1000 to do. I'm about 100 in. I am using the same press as you .I love the Lyman equipment but I'm not that happy with the brass ith powder drop. I had the Lyman 55 powder drop and loved it. I'm going to try to find a one in good condition and use it instead. I have 3 different powders drops and I'm not happy with any of them..I'm sure the 55 will work for me. Maybe the drop that I have may be defective.

@@kyfirearms Right on brother. I love odd calibers and firearms from the 1860's to 1970. The Tokarev rounds are so much fun especially at night. I got some Lehigh .308 cavitators. They are a wicked round. They are supposed to be for the 30 carbine. I lose a bit of accuracy and power but it looks so wicked and throws a nice fire ring.

i use the same mould for my ruger .327 magnum but load only .32 h&r cases and i love that 32 caliber, powder coated with harbor freight red, i also have a 84 gn .314" rcbs mould that weight out at 88gns it would be perfect fot the tokarev round.

HOORAY!!! I LOVE data for the Tok! I have the M57. as well as a PPS-43C, and that is slowly drawing me back into reloading. Is that page of load data you show at 1:50 from a book, or is that a screen shot of a computer program. What book/what program is it?
@kyfirearms
@kyfirearms 4 жыл бұрын
The Tokarev is great to reload for. I have several reloading videos for it with different bullets and powders. The paper at 1:50 is from a program called Quickload. I just recently purchased the program because it is fairly expensive, but well worth it when dealing with unknowns. Thanks for the comment and I am glad the video was helpful.

I have a couple of Tokarev's and they both are .314 in the grooves. I have some .314 lead bullets 77gn for a .32 revolver that are around 12bhn. All the reloading data will push this bullet too fast and lead the barrel. I guess the only solution is to find a .314 mold and cast with linotype. Got any suggestions? It sprays store bought ammo.
@kyfirearms
@kyfirearms 3 жыл бұрын
.314 mold and linotype should do the trick. I think powder coating makes a big difference. You could try to remove the lube,powder coat and water quenching your current. 314 bullets. It should increase the BHN quite a bit. Good luck with it and thanks for commenting.

Hi. I have the same pistol. My barrel slugs out at .3128" measured with a micrometer. My son has one, as well. His is slightly bigger at. 3135". Wondering if the lee 311-100-2R will do ok, or do I need to find something bigger, like .314" diameter, and swage it, if I have chambering issues, due to the bigger neck. Thanks

I think it would work fine for just plinking and shooting. I have never measure my bore but sized these back down to .309 and they shoot good. Thanks for the comment and good luck with it.

Check some of the original combloc ammo bullets, the ones I checked from Czech rounds were .307 and I've heard of .306. It's why some have difficulty getting larger bullets to chamber with the tight necks and throats these guns can have as some at least were made for tiny bullets that ride the rifling, chambers tight to get full peak pressurethat quickly drops. My Romanian .314 groove TTC will not stabilize berry's 110 carbine bullets(keyholes) but I can fire the same reloads out of 2 different original smg barrels and they group great, yet the Romanian groups great with the .307 Czech bullets including some rare steel core bullets also from Czech

What do you size the bullets down to
@kyfirearms
@kyfirearms 3 жыл бұрын
I sized those to .309. It will depend on your barrel. Most people will slug the barrel to find the best diameter for their gun. If the barrel has good rifling and shoots regular ammo well then .309 should be fine.

Hey KFW it’s great you not only found a gun and caliber you like, but that gun in good condition. Great you can start a brass collection and load your powder coated bullets, life is good ! You might Want to check out a channel I sub also, The Yankee Marshal. He has a video on primer drag. The fired Brass you have indicates you have that. The little tails on the primer strike holes is the sign for that. Check out his video on that, it’s a good one :-))
