When my son got married, he told me I could pick the song for our "mother/son" dance, and this was the song I chose. When it started to play and we started to dance, I could see the tears in his eyes, which of course made me start tearing up as well, both of our hearts were so touched by the lyrics. This song said everything that I had always wanted for him and he knew it. It was the perfect song for our dance.

Sons of the Desert are the background vocals. Leanne’s brother is in the group. Those are her daughters, and towards the end that is her baby girls first steps caught on camera.

This song is beautiful, but I think the background "Who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years have gone" always hits me so hard. I'm on the close edge of 50 and yes, I do have regrets, but I like to think I did most of what I wanted to do, I lived my life , I didn't stand on the sidelines.

The band in the background was an 90's country music band Sons Of The Desert ( Drew Womack the then lead singer of the Sons Of The Desert is now the lead singer of Lonestar)

@@kevinsharpjr I found this after I posted this and haven’t had the chance to edit it. I just knew they sounded familiar. Than you, sir! I still cry when I hear this. My baby girl was only 3 when this came out. I could’ve sworn Lee Ann sang this song at a super bowl halftime show. But, 20+ years is a long time ago. 😳

@@kevinsharpjr I also wanted to update that Larry Stewart-lead vocals from Restless Heart, Richie MacDonald-lead vocals from Lonestar and my FAVORITE voice Tim Rushlow-leas vocals from Little Texas have formed a new group called the Frontmen of Country. That HAS to have been creating something beautiful!

I love the creative chorus writing in this song. Ever notice the first chorus has no male background vocals. The second is both Leann and the males. But the trick comes on the 3rd chorus and they wrote it in a 123 234 scheme. In a 4 bar measure, Leann takes 1 solo, 2 and 3 with the males. The males sit out on 1 but match 2 and 3 then go solo for the 4th. As a musician of 25 years, I thought it was highly cleaver and 4D song writing
