I've had this rifle a long time but I haven't shot it in quite a while. Certainly not since I installed the Singer type rear sight.

Seeing this today 5/10/24. Last fall I bought two boxes of Herter s 303 British from Cabela's . One box was 150 gr SP and the other was 180 gr SP . I shot a decent group with the 150 gr. I then shot the 180gr . OMG I had a clover ☘️ . I bought my 303 in Maine in 1980 . I always used 150 SP . Things have changed.

It's always a good time when you bring out a 303 British 😊 I'd try it with the peep.. that should get you lower. My thoughts 🤔 I shot my first buck with my late fathers 303 British Enfield Jungle Carbine! I believe two of my three brothers also bagged their first deer with it as well! My younger brother has it nowadays.. we were left to divie up his firearms when he suddenly passed away in 2019! Miss him every day! I actually just posted a video of me shooting his Marlin 25 N the other day. Boy are Marlin 22's accurate! I was constantly shooting half inch groups at 50 yards.. with eight rounds! One in the chamber and the seven round magazine! Anyways.. thank you for sharing this brother.. you brought back the memories ❤

You’re right; I should have flipped the sight down and taken a few shots with the battle aperture. Next range visit… Never owned a Jungle Carbine but always wanted one. Thanks!

Wow, you aren’t kidding. I just looked at the target in your video thumbnail. Those Marlin microgroove barrels really work wonders with .22LR!

@@SuburbanRifleman my father purchased it for $24 way back when! He said there were barrels full of them downtown still covered in grease 😯 It always shot well.. but I personally never shot it past 100 yards! Love the Marlin 22's ❤️

I have one of these. The graduations are from 200 yards out to 1300 yards. It's too bad the front sight is altered - if you had the original foresight setup you could fine tune in .015 increments from -0.030" to +0.090"

Good stuff Greg. Always love a relaxing trip to the range with an old rifle. I had a nicely sporterized No.4 at one time but stupidly let it go…. That said I had lots of nice firearms that got away from me.. and a few nice old vehicles as well(58 Apache…67 GTO….70 Dart swinger 😭) Anyway thanks for another relaxing video.

Thanks, Amigo! I try not to think about “the ones that got away.”

@@SuburbanRifleman Yeah I try not to as well but sometimes I’m overwhelmed by nostalgia , in this case a beautiful Apache drive by just as I finished watching your video , triggering my lament ridden trip down memory lane.

Driving my Apache out to my favorite Blacktail hunting spot in the 80s with my unsporterized Krag carbine and my like new Luger in my glovebox. Happy days 😊

When I was a kid, our next door neighbor had a service garage and one of his tow trucks had an Apache cab. One of my all-time favorite truck designs.

@@SuburbanRifleman Loved mine. All stock… bought it for 200$ in about 85 from a little town called Culver , in Oregon. Was the city maintenance truck. Can’t even remember what I did with it🤦♂️

You're not going to take the .35 Marlin to bear camp?

I don’t know. Probably. I’m weighing my options. I might take it to South Africa in May.
