Today on Past Gas-- was Lee Iacocca Detroit’s Most Powerful Man? He led not one, but TWO of Motor City’s biggest companies. Without him, would we even have the Mustang? Or the Jeep? Or the… Chrysler Minivan? And how serious was his feud with the Fords? Iacocca’s rag to riches story is an inspiration to car fans and a lesson on how to succeed in whatever you want to accomplish in life.

Lee Iacocca was the one who got Ford’s Cleveland V8 into De Tomaso, so we can thank Lee Iacocca for powering almost every De Tomaso.

Because they stop every two minutes to insert a stupid ass joke. I’m not here for that shit, I’m here to hear the story. These guys make it way to easy to lose focus on what they’re actually talking about. There’s a reason only 1/30 people from their main channel came over here. They have a lot of views on a few videos, at least half a million people have seen these podcasts, but yet they regularly get ~10k views. 1/50 people that watch the videos on the main channel, watch these. Once they grow up this channel will do a lot better.

The whole idea of some dude getting all the credit just pisses me off when there's regular employees who have the same ideas everyday but their limited job positions keep them from making the big moves within the company and pulling it out of its troubles. Imagine if the people who made the products were allowed to make decisions to better the very same product that they make.

I’m watching through all the podcasts atm, so idk if you did this already, but Nolan mentioned not knowing a lot of big 3 execs, on Netflix their is this documentary series about artists who designed the world around us. One of these artists is the chief designer of dodge Chrysler he designed the hellcat and it’s a pretty cool look into the industry

I had a Plymouth Voyager in high school that would ding and light up over bumpy roads because the door catch contact was faulty. It wasn’t a good thing when I had 10 friends on ecstacy in the back. It also got stolen for one day; then later I picked up my friend Danny and he asked me “Hey did you drive me around a couple days ago? I’ve been in this van.” I never had before, turns out he was also friends with the car jacker, but I didn’t care.

So while discussing minivan mischief you missed one key advantage. The cops dont look at the minivan. You can get away with all kinds of things that you cant do in a loud civic with rims...
