580, 590 or 600? Thats easily one of the biggest questions I had when I ordered my first custom set at 16. I still don't know all the differences between the gloves but hopefully this video sheds some light on all the differences of all the break angles on Lefevre, CCM, Reebok and Koho gloves. We will return to our regularly scheduled vlog programming on Tuesday morning. @ Trav Just wondering if you would know the comparison between the Brian's G-Netiik glove to these Lefevre gloves. What I mean is Brian's says that their G-Netiik glove is a 35° break angle so that would be closest to a 580? 590? Or the 600? Keep up the hard work and great videos! 🍻

Not all companies have this same choice. The numbers are based on their first appearance in the Koho by Lefevre in the 1990s. "600" was just sequential i think

I wanna know where you got the info on Price using the 590 and Fleury using the 600. I've always heard that Fleury was a 590 user and Price, as you mentioned, had the 600 developed for him, and so that's what he uses. Could you elaborate on where your info came from? EDIT - for the test you did, I think it was a good idea, but the shots were pretty shitty on the 600 and 590. Most of them were shot on the cuff rather than the palm. The other point is because they have a different angle, your hand position needs to change. So of course if you're using the 580 hand position for the others, it won't work as well.
@Schneebly743

Fleury has switched gloves for years based on hand positioning. In Junior he used the 580 but as he tried to open up his hands more to present a bigger target and catch pucks a head of his body he switched to 590; which wasn't really comfortable with so he has switched again to 600 as it is a hybrid between to two gloves. It comes down to stance, feel and comfort as to what glove works for you. The poket also makes a huge difference in feel and catch ability but again comes down to preferences. 580 is a thumb out glove. 590 is thumb in glove and 600 is a thumb up glove. So good way to figure which glove might work best simple hold your hand in it natural position to figure you thumb position.

If the 600 was designed to be the twin to the Vaughn T5500, I would use that one. I have been almost exclusively Vaughn for over 30 years, and the T5500 is the absolute best I've ever owned. Late 90's, I decided to switch to Bauer, and I sold the set less than a year later. The T5500 is the glove I switched to from the Bauer experience. That thing is a puck magnet!

I loved my G2 from the second I put my hand into it, until it finally broke down. It's the same story with the G3 now. I always have one issue, and that's that I have small girly hands and gloves and blockers always feel loose on me, intermediate gloves are too short in the fingers and I can't stand wearing like golf gloves or something inside. My work is also really hard on the wrists and hands and I'm already seeing signs of arthritis/carpel tunnel so on a bad day I can struggle to make my glove snap shut (and you know how buttery smooth warriors are right off the shelf). Any hand/wrist stretching/exercises you do? When you were in your warriors did you try all the different liners? I honestly barely notice any difference between them. I mean, the glove itself doesn't change..

Can anyone explain what the basic differences between them are? I’ve never played hockey before nor even seen a glove so genuinely interested to know. I’m assuming as you go up/down the numbers you can close your fingers further down towards your wrist? Do the numbers mean anything other than being basically small, medium large? Could you get a 400 glove for example? Also I know this isn’t reddit/stack exchange and the video isn’t brand new, just thought I’d ask. I did google it, but still don’t really understand.

I'm not sure if you ever played baseball growing up. I've not tried a 90 but I really like the 60 degree break. I think the reason why fingers up goalies like it is that it's best if the T is parallel to the ice so when I have the glove off to the side to actually catch pucks it works best (although another reason I want to get a warrior glove, I could just get the palm inserts and try out different angles without getting 3 gloves.

Enjoy'd the breakdown, really put a lot of effort into this. But I see people shooting pre-historic, I've played for 30 years - and goalies who shoot like broduer or Hextall are better shooters who shoot thumb down, which is a lost art. Good video.

I have a newer T5500 that looks alot like the 600 you have. There is not too many pucks that I cant catch with the pocket. I will say that I stick handle like the 80s and 90s goalies. (Brodeur is my favorite) and have no problem with passing. I do believe its 80% user and 20% equipment. Once you find that perfect set though it's hard to give it up or find replacement
