hi from austria! the maker of the vase should be "karl födinger" from gmunden (which is a a famous city for austrian pottery called "gmundner keramik"). the stamp stands for "werkstatt karl födinger" which was founded in 1931.

I’m 59 and live in Australia. I’ve been second hand shopping since I was 14. I hang out to watch Laura’s shop’s and advise. I think she’s brilliant on just knowing what works and noticing pieces that complement a corner that others would miss. I totally enjoy this channel and live through her eyes as she’s browsing. Thank you Laura x

MY PARENTS ARE BOTH AUSTRIAN. MY MOTHERS SIDE HAS THE CREATIVITY AND MY DADS SIDE MUSIC. MY PARENTS RECEIVED SOME BEAUTIFUL GIFTS FROM COUSINS WHO REMAINED IN AUSTRIA, WHEN THEY GOT MARRIED IN THE U.S. IN 1936. BRASS CANDLESTICK HOLDERS AND SEVERAL PIECES OF POTTERY. ONE OF WHICH LOOKS IDENTICAL TO THE BLUE AND EARTH TONE VASE. I KNOW IT IS HARD TO JUDGE SIZE ON A SCREEN BUT I BELIEVE THEIRS WAS SMALLER. FOR THESE TREASURES TO TRAVEL ACROSS THE ATLANTIC AND ARRIVE IN MINNESOTA UNHARMED IS A BLESSING. THEY ARE STILL SURVIVING 87 YEARS LATER AND ARE MORE BEAUTIFUL THEN WHEN THEY WERE LOVINGLY HAND MADE. JUST THE FACT IT WAS 1936 IN A POST AND PREWAR TIME NOT ONLY IS REMARKABLE BUT ADDS TO THEIR BEAUTY. I WONDER HOW MUCH ART WAS LOST DURING THOSE TIMES, YET THE ARTISTS CONTINUED TO PUT OUT SUCH TALENT AND CREATIVITY IN THEIR WORK AND BEING UPLIFTING INSTEAD OF DARKNESS AND HATE. I'M GLAD I CAME FROM A STRONG FAMILY, CULTURES CREATIVITY AND COUNTRY. GOD BLESS THOSE WHO REMAIN IN THE HOMELAND AND CONTINUE DEVELOPING THEIR CRAFTS.

Hi Laura, I'm a reseller as well. I love Meguiar's cut polish for old plastics. You can find it in the automotive section. It's made to restore plastic automotive parts. There are several types. I bought the Ultimate Black plastic restorer. Don't worry, it's a white cream colored polish. 😉

Hi! Repairing and polishing plastic/lucite/plexiglass can be done with NOVUS products. If scratches are deeper, using a combination of wet/dry sandpaper, 800-1200 grit, can remove larger scratches and then use something like NOVUS to smooth and polish. I enjoy your channel 😊.

I like that you buy what you love not just because you can make money on it. Although I love that you show how to identify a valuable item too. You seem to be bringing attention to buying used and the value in handmade items. That is a bonus for the people watching, vintage stores, artisans, as well as a bonus for the world. Love watching your videos!

Funny story, I watched a video of a man who goes to GW to find cheap parts for electronics, He videotaped a shelf that had all kinds of appliances on it, and I spied a Tangerine Blenko bottle...told him and he said he was going back. LOL. Hubs was impressed. TY!

“Popular Jewelry of the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s” by Roseann Ettinger is one of my favorite books on vintage jewelry. Having been published in 1997, the book itself is vintage 😅 I don’t rely on it so much for the value ranges attributed to each piece, but I do appreciate the large, semi-gloss pages featuring over 600 color photographs and 60 advertising pieces! She explains how fashion and even political trends were reflected in jewelry design through the 3 showcased decades. She also has a book covering 1840-1940 that I’d like to pick to pick up soon, and a few others that I am sure are just as fabulous! Blessings to you Laura! Thank you for sharing you talent and passion with us, I am inspired every time I watch one of your videos!! 🥰

I have been binge watching your channel for the last week! I love how you have been mixing it up especially your Art Deco stuff. I think it blends in great with mcm! Your goodwills are so much better than mine in NJ and Tucson AZ! Love your styling vignettes at the end the most!!!❤

I JUST ran into one of those panther paintings in a thrift store in Kansas City last week! My friend's research said it was art for a department store I think? How funny!

The round candles are used on the Ittalia Festive candlesticks. These candlesticks are the one in graduating order of heights from one ring up to ten rings which is quite tall and quite expensive. They are a patterned ice like with a ring, or two rings, ect. In the middle.
