Holy fuck, watching someone like Prime makes me appreciate Dylan Burns so much more. Dude can go hard as a panelist, but does a pretty good job of not injecting his own viewpoints when he's the moderator. Prime legit talks more than the entire rest of the panel put together, then says "Oh, these people need to go, they've been waiting," when he's spent 9 years going "U-Um, uhhh-" and being the #1 cause of those waits. Either let your 600 other panelists speak or don't fucking 'moderate' the discussion, Jesus Christ.

It's truly no wonder that history repeats itself. I kinda thought we realized like hundreds of years ago, that slogans and rallying cries for political change only gain traction and only are effective when you can say the slogan and have it be widely understood. If someone can take away a meaning from your slogan that requires you to go into this indignant frustrated response where you start trying to explain your own personal and subjective 'context' where you go on to describe a concept that basically ends up contradicting the slogan entirely, it's not a good slogan and you should find a better one. You end up seeming more like a liar who wants to run cover for champions of the slogan than someone giving a good faith clarification of what it means. One perfect example of it from this summer was the Defund the Police slogan, and the incessant tweets and media where individuals will provide this head-in-the-clouds definition for *what it really means* then you turn on the TV and you see a rally in Minnesota where Ilhan Omar is being met with huge cheers from the crowd as she shouts that the Minnesota PD must be literally and explicitly dismantled entirely. Yet you don't ever see any of these people call her out who were trying to 'clarify' the meaning as something else entirely. It makes them look like either a liar or speaking out of their rear end and looking stupid.

Prime just really needs to decide on wether he wants to be a panelist or the moderator. Half moderating half arguing just doesn't work. You're not going to be fair if you're invested and you're not going to argue well if you're only there occasionally. Though I could imagine that being possible, you'd still need to have a clear focus.

In my admittedly limited and anecdotal experience, every single time I've tried to explain to a left leaning normie what ACAB and Defund "really means" or whatever, it's made them extremely defensive and hesitant to agree, despite them usually entirely agreeing with most if not all of the more specific points of needed reforms. It was through these conversations that I've come to feel that these slogans are almost entirely detrimental in that sort of context.

Whenever Prime speaks everyone goes quiet because Prime can mute. When Destiny is speaking it is always to the tune of 5 other lefties trying to get their two cents in.

Prime seems like trying to enforce the idea that people need to respect him, and to be honest at the point nobody really gives a fuck since he's not playing the moderator role anymore at the point. If you're going to moderate a discussion but also chime in your positions and opinions what's the point? You're just gonna get offended when people start treating you like the other panellists and start debating/disagreeing with you and you threaten with "this is my show i can do whatever i like"

That one panelist was basically arguing "extremists are good because they make everyone else look more reasonable by comparison". That's not an argument _for_ extremism, it's an argument against it. It's completely counterproductive to that entire argument to be literally using that point to argue _for_ extremism. They don't seem to understand that using that argument _requires_ that you start with the premise that the extreme position is unreasonable. When they started citing Trump's art of the deal, I just checked out completely.

The police discussion where people are talking about certain units for specific calls, was delusional. They have no grasp on chaotic it is and how much information gets lost or scrambled when a 911 call comes from a hysterical victim to a dispatcher and then to responding officers and then out to other officers for backup. The suspect description gets jumbled. Sometimes the whole scenario that gets relayed is wrong. It’s literally a game of telephone

I ate an amazing Nutella sandwich with rustic wheat bread and cutted slices of banana! To make this I heated my pan using medium high heat! From here I placed my bread until toasted for roughly 2 minutes! I personally used rustic wheat bread, but you can use ciabatta bread as an alternative! Once both pieces are toasted, spread the nutella on both pieces, arrange the slices of banana, on one piece, then place the second one on top to place it all together and there you go! I hope you all get to eat a really good sandwich as well!

Wow... I've been skeptical about Prime as a moderator based on the last several panels (shitshows) of his I've seen, but this one really is on a whole new level. He nakedly abuses his status as the discussion host to basically act as a panelist that can mute other panelists, meanwhile completely neglecting his assumed duties as "moderator" unless he's trying to create space for himself ("shut up, shut up shut up or I'll mute you!") so he can impotently stumble his way through whatever point he's trying to make at his discretion. Before I just wrote it off as incompetence/inexperience, but now this just seems gross...

Prime kept referring to BlackLivesMatter as if that were actually a good slogan. It's not. It's the one we're stuck with, because of how algorithms work, and whoever first used the hashtag decided that for everyone. But it's a terrible slogan that invites misunderstanding. It gained traction _despite_ being a bad slogan, not because of it. Had it been a better slogan, it might have gained a lot more traction, and a lot more people might have been comfortable using it a lot sooner. I can think of two alternatives that are infinitely better. The first is "BlackLivesMatterToo". There's no situation in which people trying to reply to that with "AllLivesMatter" makes sense. It has the idea of "yeah, we know all of you matter, but what about us? We matter too" baked right into it. Not only does it, with the addition of a simple 3-letter word, address the idea of everyone else mattering, but it _uses_ that to further the point. But you could argue that it's a little too wimpy sounding or that it muddies the point a bit, so a much better alternative would be the second, "BlackLivesDoMatter". This one inherently implies neglect, and drives home the point that it is a response to the idea that they don't matter. Because a lot of people read "BlackLivesMatter" and without understanding the history and full meaning behind it, just think "yeah, so?" But if it were "BlackLivesDoMatter", then suddenly they're like "wait, who's saying they don't? Yeah, they do, I can get behind that." This is the problem with social media algorithms (which are very engineered) driving political movements. It may be a bit conspiratorial, but I personally believe BLM was a slogan intentionally crafted or selected to be as vague and invite as much misunderstanding as possible, because that would generate the most social media engagement, even if the majority of that engagement would end up being people misunderstanding it.

The big problem I have with the “we should have social workers or specialised units to handle non violent situations” is it’ll just be a huge waste of time and money to recreate police. People often don’t have enough nuance to actually have a critical discussion on how policing works. EVERY call has a chance of getting violent, especially things like mental health calls that was used as an example. So what’ll happen is you’ll create these new units and things will probably work well for a little while. But then you’ll have an incident where what was supposed to a simple safe call turns into a shit show and people are hurt or killed. This’ll spark a chain reaction to either A. Have police there anyway from now on (which now you’ve just doubled the cost of a policing and not solved the problem) or B. You’ll train these social workers or units to protect themselves and give them appropriate equipment to do so, but at that point you’ve just recreated police. At the end of the day we will always have police, it’s just a necessity in society. Lowering the amount of calls they go on changes nothing, you have actually fix problems within the departments itself.
