As a fan of Cruel Intentions (which has both Reese and Selma but they share no scenes ☹), I really enjoy the friendship between Elle and Vivian. They start as enemies (on Vivian's part), but both realize that Warner sucks and ditch him to become besties.

Honestly, my favorite part about this movie is the script. In theory, it just shouldn't work it has too many subplot threads. There's the main one about Elle going to law school, but then there's also her breakup story with Warner, her getting together with Luke Wilson's character (I forget his name), the love story between Paulette and the UPS guy, Elle's friendship with Vivian, the s3xual harassment thing with her professor, the whole story with the actual court trial...it's insane how many plates are spinning, but somehow, it never feels forced, cheap, or thrown away. This is quite a dense yet breezy script.

I was a member of a fraternity in college, Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE.) There was a sorority house on campus that was entirely composed of the girliest girls on campus, Alpha Phi. They were basically the real life Delta Nu, and possibly who they were based on. And you are absolutely correct in your appraisal of what their sorority house was like. It was basically a fashion day camp. Lots of girls around during different hours of the day, lots of events and parties. And EVERYONE was impressively dressed, styled and made up. I remember the first party of theirs I ever got invited to I was so shy because they were all so pretty, I didn't talk to anyone but the other guys most of the night, LOL! I didn't have what you'd call "the social skills", back in those days! 😂😂😂😂

Dasha, you've GOT TO see the Jane Austen stories: Pride and Prejudice (2005, Knightley was perfect), Sense and Sensibility (1995, Oscar winning actress), Emma (1996, say what you want but Gwyneth was just right). Other good "chick flicks": A League of Their Own, Sleepless in Seattle, The Devil Wears Prada, Lady Bird, Moulin Rouge (musical, so maybe copyright problems in KZfaq), Clueless. Chick flicks don't have to be all about boyfriends.

Best score you can get on the LSAT is 180, and she got a 179 on her first try. Its a test you take that is like... all essay questions, and when it gives you multiple choice questions, all of the choices are right, you have to explain which is the most correct, and explain why.

So the 175 thing is off, you need atleast a 170 to get into Harvard. Elle getting a 179 is nuts, because 180 is perfect. Also, even if you were to take out the obvious misogyny that went into her admission decision, in real life someone like her would have a better chance than the average applicant because she's different. They really do want as many perspectives as possible when deciding admissions. Especially at a school with an acceptance rate of 4%.

Hi Dasha, when I saw the title of this one I knew you would enjoy this girl power comedy film!🙂"Ferocity" comes from the word ferocious, being very scary. "Carnage" is the killing of a lot of people. This was Reese Witherspoon's big breakthrough film. Great reactions to the very enjoyable comedy Legally Blonde, Dasha!!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Ferocious also has connotations of savage violence -- either literal or metaphorical.
@DeathToTheDictators
@DeathToTheDictators 11 ай бұрын
Ferocious isn't strictly scary.....like say Metallica gave a ferocious performance last night...it also means intense, impressive, hard hitting etc... Also, carnage isn't necessarily about killing....like say, there was joyful carnage on the streets of New York after the Yankees big championship win....it also means chaos, disorder, mayhem, etc....

The guy playing David Kidney(Oz Perkins) is the son of late actor Anthony Perkins from Psycho! He is a director one film being The Blackcoat’s Daughter. The Actress playing Vivian(Selma Blair) has Multiple Sclerosis but hopes to be in Legally Blonde 3. This was based on a book which was set at Stanford Law but Stanford would not allow filming there so it was moved to Harvard instead. Reese did attend Stanford but dropped out. Her daughter attends Cal(Berkeley) a very competitive school in California. The beautician friend was in the American Pie movie series and tv series Two Broke Girls. She also won multiple awards on another tv show. The woman playing Brooke also played Clear Rivers in the Final Destination 1+2 films. The ex-wife is played by late pin up and actress Raquel Welch(RIP). Other FEMALE centric films: Ruth Gordon in Harold and Maude; Rosiland Russell in Auntie Mame and The Trouble with Angels; Goldie Hawn in Foul Play, Seems Like Old Times, Overboard, and Private Benjamin plus Barbra Streisand in What’s Up Doc and For Pete’s Sake.

Maybe not "girly" but def more for the lighter side and FANTASTIC: 1995 "Sense and Sensibility". One of the greatest endings in movie history ...directed by Ang Lee and based on Jane Austen's 1811 novel of the same name. Emma Thompson wrote the screenplay and stars as Elinor Dashwood, while Kate Winslet plays Elinor's younger sister Marianne.

Same here. I have learned that many "chick flicks" have depth. In the end, nearly every movie is about people. If it's a good story and well told, I'm in. Plus I'm a sucker for stories where someone is prejudged in some way (sometimes by me), only for us all to find out that they shouldn't have been.

For me it's hard to watch this movie with all the Barbie-like and cheerleader-like scenes, but I like the message that a woman does not have to stop being feminine and attractive to prove she is smart and capable. Many feminists from the 20th century acted like they have to act like men, stop shaving everything and wear the ugliest clothes they could find, as if being feminine implied being dumb and superficial. I've know a few women in my life, two of them in Engineering school, another one in a Karate group, beautiful, feminine, smarter, more capable and with more leadership skill than almost everyone in their groups.

While the scene when Elle slaps David in front of the girls who rejected him to help him look desirable instead of a loser, I got the impression that she's done the same to a guy (or guys) and saw it from the man's perspective. A lot of women seem to believe that men are emotionless robots who don't have feelings, so it's okay (even cool) to hurt them. Atta girl, Elle!

Enid majored in women's studies. Which means she majored in feminism. Elle, by being wholeheartedly feminine, is the antithesis of feminism. It is pretty cool with campus life.. for like 2 years.. then.. well. Then its less cool By the way. So here 15 years on, im still very happy i married a Marilyn not a jackie I studdied in the golden 90s in engineering. Engineering was super-hyped in the 90s and there was quite a lot of female attendees, something that have really not happen before or later. Quite a lot of them was bimbos, and also quite a few of them was nerds. But, if they was bimbos or nerds really had no effect of the outcome of the education. There was also much more girls falling of than guys. There was this bimbo in my class that i was seated with the very first day, she turned out she was from the same city as me, i never met here prior. I instantly disliked here (and i guess she probobly didn´t like me that much either) I pretty much didn´t talk to here the following 4 years. She was the first female to finish that program...

3:13. It's strange to think he would take her to such a nice restaurant just to break up with her, but then again he's an idiot who couldn't even get into law school on his own, & she proved to herself she didn't need him to be both happy & successful as she is.

The stereotypes in this are just over the top 😂, & Reese just nails the role of Elle. Just a fun movie that brings laughs. [Have another good comedy for you Dasha; it is "OSCAR" with Sylvester Stallone. A really enjoyable film with a great supporting cast of notables, & a quick paced script. I think it is one of his best roles along with "Copland". Hope you give it a reaction!)😊
