Opening transcript:
Presten atencion.
********
Let me tell you about an old legend I heard from my father. That is the way with my people - our words are passed like heirlooms. Except words get tangled in the retelling, and this story is no different. It’s up to you to sort out the truth from fiction. So listen carefully.
***********
****************************
Long ago the Spanish conquistadors came to South America and stole untold riches from the Incas. On their way back, while crossing the Sechura Desert, they got caught in a sand storm and vanished. Since then nobody knew where the treasure was scattered. But the Incas kept a secret. A map in form of a story. So we invested all our money and organized an expedition. After months of searching we finally found something. Except by then all our supplies were gone and most of the men were dead.

That was cool....what you did going from 5 pages to 3 and still manage to create a complex, abstract historic story into an entertaining 7 min. film ......Bravo....inspiration for my first attempt in filmmaking

It's awkward but true that Tom Antos is not the best KZfaqr, but he is the best filmmaker on KZfaq! :)

Who claimed I was a "KZfaqr"? Im assuming a "KZfaqr" is a title assigned to someone who makes a primary living from making KZfaq videos? If so I am not a KZfaqr and damn proud of it! :-) Thanks King Arthur for appreciating my filmmaking skills. Peace!
@yoyokingarthur7515
@yoyokingarthur7515 6 жыл бұрын
Yes I didn't claim anything. I was so amazed to see your short film and the skill to make that happen that's why I said so. There are also a lot of KZfaq filmmaker who make short films and tutorials but sadly "their tutorials are better than their films." They say many things about "stories" but end up making the same, predictable, vfx heavy action packed short films with loads of muzzle flashes. I found your channel through your short film "The Big Wild North". Then I watched "He said, She Said" and discovered someone who tells lighthearted various stories along with "muzzle flashes." And this time you just broke the language barrier, I understand no word of whatever that language was but I still enjoyed :D. With my words I meant that your tutorials are not the best (I'm just being honest) but your films are! And that's the way it should be. Anyway, what the heck was that language??

Nice job Tom. Why do people ask stupid questions like "why do these days you get so many dislikes"...i mean seriously??? The man loves what he does, he is teaching others, living his dream...and all you can bitch about is 20 dislikes?? Great job Tom. Point well made...it's not about the camera, equipment...it's about telling a compelling story with what you have. Bottom line...go make SOMETHING. THANK YOU TOM.
@TomAntos
@TomAntos 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ron for your kind words. In the end it's about positive attitude which makes everything you do worthwhile. Some people see a few dislikes I see that most enjoy it. Also its more about creating something rather than creating a masterpiece every-time. Even when I make films that aren't great I still put them out there for people to see even though I realize the mistakes I did. This way I know I will get better. Each mistake is hopefully a mistake that won't happen again :)

Tom, what you just wrote is simply amazing!! Life is exactly about that, about doing it. Not worrying about making mistakes. Thank you for sharing your success, as well as your failures, since none of us are perfect. We are all learning at all times. Some of these key board warriors are too busy criticizing vs. lifting others up, or helping others. I really enjoy your episodes, and I have learned tremendous amount from just watching and listening. So I thank you for that. Keep up the great work.

Great job Tom. People like me always pick the continuity flaws out LOL most noticeable was bar scene glass empty glass full. Not easy with the turn around to remember motion continuity. Same with insert shots.Even with my youtube videos unless you use Two Camera setups it is a challenge. Great manipulation of the night effects.

Tom, super direction. Got question : In movies I see for each scene they just show 3 seconds approx and other camera angle immediately. Do they keep on shooting from 4 angles for each and every take ? And many times it's very tight shots but we never see the camera. Does that mean they mostly stay far with tele cine lenses ?

No they shoot wides then re set up for close ups as they also bring lighting in, diffusion, bounce etc. Also sound. They’ve massive crews and gear so they can do it.

Shadows on the ground should be faded....as light source is moon...!
@TomAntos
@TomAntos 9 ай бұрын
Nope. take a look at actual footage that is shot with the moon as the only light source... unless there are clouds or something else that diffuses the moonlight the shadows will be as sharp since the moon is about the same size in the sky as the sun. Just like the sun, the shadows are sharp if there are no clouds to diffuse it. The moon is just darker than the sun so the exposure will be much lower and shadows will appear almost black. Check out this video that's shot using only the moonlight and watch how the shadows look: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pbJ_laeL1Ki4ZWg.html
