Don't have a part number. Just go with the standard axeos for your bike

Thanks Steve. I went with the normal spring rate on the legends. With all my gear and passenger I don’t cross the threshold into the heavy duty. I had heard the heavy duty legends are extremely stiff

@@OldFriendsandNewRoads this is only my opinion, but the axeo front are definitely stiffer. If your looking for a bike that performs in the corners and reduces brake dive to pretty much non existent then I would say they are for you. If your looking for a plush ride then I would say stay stock in the front. It will also be road dependent on your decision also. I live in Chicago so the roads are horrible. I almost don't like the axeo on terrible roads. But if your like most of the country and the roads are not that bad I would say buy them for sure!. Good luck either way

@@OldFriendsandNewRoads I find them just about right they are adjustable when the dealer or the tech put them on he asked me my weight what type of riding do I do. Mine is set at zero. That seems to be about right for the type of riding I do. Also there’s very little front end dive you hit the front brakes hard. The front fork cartridges seem to help the handling quite a bit I’m very happy with them. I rode home from Sturgis about 1200 miles so I got a chance to really see how they perform, Worth every penny.

@@dwightraine9686 that sounds good! I rode 80% of the time with my wife, do they consider that when they adjust them and just add to the weight? I can’t wait to get a set and I appreciate your comments

@@OldFriendsandNewRoads Yeah all those things are all considered if you go to Sturgis next year they’re just right outside of town by five blocks out of town.

Doug Morgan I experienced the same with my Öhlins, I would even have to spray them with silicon lubricant just to get them to move. Please let me know when you slap those legends on, I’m curious to hear your thoughts on the difference as well

@@OldFriendsandNewRoads Will do if the post office would get their crap together. My shocks came all the way across the country in 3 days. Then they sat just a couple hundred miles away in a hub for 4 days before being put on the wrong truck which took them to a town in the next province over about 800 miles away. Then they arrived back at the hub Wednesday morning and haven't moved since. I am getting pretty pissed at this point. If they don't move Monday I am contacting the shipper to have a trace put on them.

I have not done the fronts yet, still on the fence with what direction I want to go. You really can’t go wrong with either choice my friends. I’m still in love with the legends but would gladly put the ohlins back on my bike

That was pretty much my experience, rear shocks should be the first upgrade for any touring bike!

You will find either choice to be incredible over stock but I agree with all the reasons you are choosing the Legends. thanks

Just did legends front and back ,, on a 2019 Road Glide Special -stage 111,,, lots off power ;; but wow what a difference in the ride ,it’s like a Ferrari compare to stock ,, legends is the one

That’s super weird. I noticed this with factory shocks but not aftermarket. I would recommend triple checking that your sag is perfectly even on both sides as well as your rebound adjustments if you have them. I’ve heard of this occurring when the two shocks aren’t setup the same

I agree with the 1 up v 2 up with the legends. Ohlins are a great set of shocks, i still need to get my rebuilt

I’m totally hoping to do so. I had one person say they were savagely firm and another say they were perfect. What’s your thoughts on them?

@@OldFriendsandNewRoads I put them on my bike ,and they are firm. For my weight it says to do a 1 turn I'm 285 . It's not what I expected. Its way better than stock. At least when I hit certain bumps I don't her the front end rattle and the springs. And it cuts down about 90% of the nose dive. And feels better in the curves. Iv heard other guys say when you pair them up with the back revo A's it rides better in the curves and they say the smooth rides come from the the back and the performance in the front.

you are correct. I was pretty butt hurt about how long the ohlins lasted before needing rebuilt. You really cant go wrong with either brand when comparing ride quality. At this point I cant speak to customer service either. If I had one piece of information that would sway someone either way it would be how much easier it is to dial in the legends. There's no tool required for setting the sag, and the rebound knob is clearly labeled so you know when both shocks are set exactly the same. The counting clicks with the ohlins was a pain, especially if you had to zero them out. If you turn them too hard on zero you can damage them. my two cents. thanks for watching, and ride safe brotha!

How firm are the axeos up front?

@@OldFriendsandNewRoads they are firm so not much brake dive but not so firm that the ride is bad. Keep the front planted in turns like a freeway on ramp does not feel wishy washy like the stock front end. I find much more confidence in cornering the bike is way more stable!

Yeah, rear shocks is the first thing any new bike should swap out. You really can’t go wrong with either shock. On the wimco nw series we have out now I rand the legends for 3k miles with a passenger and pulling a trailer without a single problem. Love those things

yeah, i totally put them on the wrong way and have since been corrected. I dont know any difference but I did swap them. I still love them! what do you think of them?

@@OldFriendsandNewRoads Cool! I love them so much that I actually look for potholes now. Is it my imagination, but feel like the front-end dive is more noticeable now. I guess that will be next year’s Christmas present.

@@frenchy114 it totally makes the front end dive more noticeable. On my short list of upgrades left.

I havent had to replace that yet. I had the front end rebuilt last year and the bearing checked out ok

Well my friend, this here is a crux as old as time! Honestly, we just sit on the bike and I have a friend measure the sag. No weights necessary. If your trying to determine whether or not you need the HD coils than your on your own!!

I've heard that. I like what the ohlins have to offer on the fronts more than I do the legends. When i get to that point I think that's what I'm going to go with

That’s a great point and something I consider greatly. A lot of these suspension companies don’t warranty their shocks that long or make it easy to use. Needless to say I’m rebuilding my ohlins for when my legends give out.

Old Friends and New Roads I will day you dead in on quality for both thou. They both when working they are hands down the top level suspension out on the market. No others even compare. Not fox not racetech nothing else. This was a great video and I want you to know I appreciate you help educating the motorcycle community as a whole.
