As a steward in the away end Legia fans came the Villa park many had weapons and arrested knuckle dusters, knives etc… 1 officer was stabbed and one set on fire. That’s why no legia fans were allowed in. We shut the whole away end. 50 were arrested for weapons.

You are not a steward. Or you are a liar. Riots started because 900 Legia fans who suppose to get the tickets were not allowed in. That info was given to Legia fans about 2 hours before the kick off. Its a disgrace how you English have treated us. that decision to not let anyone in caused the riots. You can't disrespect people and don't expect trouble. People paid for flights and hotels only to be conned by Aston Villa. First Villa told us we have 5% of the tickets (according to UEFA rules) . Then 3 weeks before the game it was suddenly cut down to 900 . And eventually those 900 fans were not let in (decision made before the trouble started). Shame on you !

After all, it was Aston Villa that caused the trouble! In Warsaw, English fans could feel safe and cheered on their 1,700 fans. So why were 890 places awarded to Poles? This is totally not fair! The police were already at the airport looking for the perpetrators of the riots in Leicester 2 years ago. They arrested a few people because they looked like those in the photos. But these were people visiting England for the first time. Overall, we were treated like subhumans. We were pushed away from the stadium and into the TiR parking lot. They used gas and batons. We were not given tickets. In the end, many people lost their nerves. But if you were ever on a trip, you would know that only a small part does the trouble. The rest is just present. No one was arrested in the square because the English police were afraid and many of the cops had wet pants. Later, 46 peaceful people were arrested in bars and bus stops. It was about statistics. They even arrested an old lady wearing a Legia scarf. You have such a cowardly and incompetent police force. How dare you call us Neanderers? It's the English who are them and your police are stupid pigs. Is every Englishman as dumb as you?

I got hit by the splash of some missiles pre game and had a close shave with a flare. Suddenly the police were screaming all villa fans inside the ground now and they were shutting the gates. Police were barely holding the line. Its a shame as the were very small pockets of legia fans away from it all that were well behaved

What an intense night at VP and so weird seeing no travelling fans in the ground. 3,000 travelling fans with only 800 tickets and with the police and authorities knowing they had roited at other grounds this year it had to be safety first. Took me back to the Rangers game when the flares and bottles came flying over the holte end from the Trinty Road such a shame but i heard a few saying they had trouble in Poland . Onto the football i thought t was not anywhere near our normal standard of football but a win is a win and that's the important part. Great to see Moreno playing and getting a goal, glad Olsen didn't have much to do he just don't give me any confidence. Great Video again i did manage to say hello to Simon on his way to the North Stand

As a Legia fan, great game from both sides, just more experienced team won. About Legia fans, I love their performances on the stadium and if they would be let in fully on the stand nothing bad would happen and you'd see one of the best ultras in Europe, but instead they cause carnage, which I'm not very proud of. Good job Villa, see you in the knockout stages hopefully!

Hmmmm. Obviously a shame for the true fans who don't want to cause trouble but your ultras unfortunately have a reputation for violence which is why the police banned them from entering the stadium due to safety concerns. I'm not sure the chaos was simply because of the tickets being pulled (although that won't have helped). It is a shame for the fans who just want to go and support and it's been ruined by a minority. Theres a reason uefa recommended villa decrease the tickets available to the away fans in the first place (because of thr WarsAw fans reputation) Anyway, well played. I thought you guys gave us a great game!!!!!

Disorders were made because 1700 fans both ticket booked hotel , bought tickets and in match day they get to know that it was all for nothing 😔. They spent so much money on everything, how you can return them ? Clashes were madw because of unfair treatment

Also it is obvious that allowing away fans to come to Villa Park (officially promising them tickets) only to disrespect them and play them for fools 2 hour before the kick off (by denying them entry ) was the main reason why riots started. Sorry but your comment is ignorant and lacking any logic. You English fans are also well known to cause trouble when away. Shall we put you all in the same basket and ban you all from travelling? LEGIA IS THE BEST!!! Congratulations, Villa fans! Well done on securing the victory. Legia had the potential to win with our passionate 3k-strong fanbase in the stadium, but they were unfortunately banned due to security concerns. It would have been beneficial if Aston Villa had actively supported us with the local police. Any fans from any team or country would be upset. All Legia fans were celebrating across pubs and places; they were undoubtedly excited but also cold and frustrated. Apart from the ultras from Legia, we had fans with teens and younger kids. People took time off work, spent money, and dedicated their time only to be denied access to the pitch. Despite the disappointment and frustration among Legia fans, let's look forward to a rematch in the next round. We're determined to win the next game and secure the second qualifying position. @@timc9132 locking three thousand fans in some dirty parking lot near the stadium, giving them only 800 tickets, aggressive behavior of the police towards the fans and treating them like human garbage caused this brawl, it was enough to let our fans into the stadium, but apparently the AV authorities were afraid of their own team's embarrassment at their stadium and that's why they covered themselves with the police, all to prevent Legia fans from entering.

It is quite clear that by refusing to cooperate and follow UEFA regulation, Legia Warsaw engineered a situation which would cause chaos, so they could then sit back and ‘cry victim’ at the then inevitable unsavoury scenes. It’s no wonder controversy, shame and deplorable behaviour follow this club when such a transparently embarrassing and inciting attitude and example stems from its most senior officials. Maybe if they took some accountability, they would have more educated ‘fans’ who don’t throw their toys (…flares and mayonnaise bottles) out the pram like spoilt kids. The evidence is overwhelmingly stacked against you. Take your L and don’t come back. Hopefully, a very lengthy ban from European competition follows.

It was the Police who reduced your allocation. This was known a month in advance. So ~3000 travelled over already knowing this, ~2000 knowingly without a ticket. So why your fans are acting shocked and pretending to be victims is quite frankly absurd. This isn't Warsaw, you can't just have a whole group pile in off of one ticket because it's easier for the police to allow it than have to have a fight every week over it. LOL. Your Club did not cooperate with the Police, Villa or UEFA in the days leading up to the game. And your club was also in possession of the tickets, so again, blaming Villa is wrong. And despite all of this, what kind of reaction is that from Legia fans? To initimidate locals, to attack police, dogs, and horses? To even set one on fire? Bizarre. Bizarre to defend these actions, bizarre to act like the victims. Decent Legia fans need to seriously ask questions of their clubs actions over the 'ultras'

Having once dated a girl whose grand parents were polish I have to say that was impressive and a nice touch to anyone watching. I'm glad you and your mates were safe. Better second half two good goals and the win. Hooliganism is not football I work with Legia Warsaw fan and he isn't a bad guy and like you said for the fans who aren't there for the fight its not great. Anyway we march on a trickey test passed.

@Sheraton50 it was unfortunately out of Aston Villa's hands. We are mandated (Forced) by the police to put certain restrictions on ticket allocation. We know that it only takes a small few to ruin things for the masses. The Legia supporters (whoever they are) that came and caused scenes that were TERRIFYING for the children who are just going to watch their idols play football....can you honestly tell me that you think it is OK to attak the police in this fashion. That has unfortunately damaged reputation of your fan base....even though we know it is only a handful of people...that fact can't be changed.

This is in stark contrast to normal UEFA operational procedures. They advised the meeting that they would meet with their supporters at 2.30pm and communicate the decision at 3pm but advised there was a possibility that they would not accept the tickets. Despite repeated requests before and after the 3pm deadline for a decision, there was no communication until 4pm when Legia informed Aston Villa that they wished to receive their ticket allocation. These tickets were handed to Legia officials immediately upon their arrival at the stadium at 6.16pm. To reiterate, Legia officials were advised on a call that included a number of UEFA representatives on November 2 that they would receive an allocation of 1002 - exactly four weeks prior to last night’s fixture." SO VILLA AND UEFA GAVE YOU THE TICKETS AND YOU STILL BEHAVED LIKE A BUNCH OF CHILDREN. Stop playing the victim and have a look at yourselves in the mirror LMAO.

Seems like a lot of supporters abroad are living in the past and still see thuggery as 'cool.' I remember attending games in the 70s and 80s and grounds in England were not places where this wonderful sport could be enjoyed by one and all. So glad this nation has largely managed to move on and the sport is family friendly again. Anyway, great times are back at the Villa and it's an absolute delight and I know football shouldn't be that impact on life, but it doesn't half lift my mood and outlook on everything. UTV.

When villa came to warsaw they recived 1700 tickets and both club sign contract that legia recive at least the same amount of seat on villa park but when it comes close to the game the numbers of seats were reduce something around 790. Every other team visiting villa park recive full numbers of seats so I am not suprise why all that happend. If all of them 3000 fans been allowed to the game trust me nothing like that would happend as legia doesnt have any enemy on villa park. Legia is playing next home game with alkmar and Alkmar authorities suggest not to go to Warsaw because it may be too dangerous. Really! It shows how legia is treat unfair. Whatever happens its always legia fault. The police are there to protect people in and around the stadium, not to prevent people from entering it. Anyway it was good game! What an performance against city and arsenal home. Vell done villa !

I'm a villa fan but fair play to the Legia fans for sticking up for themselves! The police treat football fans like dirt in the UK and unfortunately the English accept it. You can't say to people who have travelled 1000s of miles for a game that they're not allowed in cuz a few people have kicked off. I think west Midlands police have learnt they're lesson and although they get away with treating English fans like dirt, they just won't be able to treat European fans the same without getting a response.

Definitely 50 years ago. The 1970s were pure mayhem for English football supporters. I was 15 years old and can honestly say I've been chased around the areas of most of the top flight football grounds in England. Pure fear helps you run a lot faster and a lot further. So glad those days have gone.

If that was not Villa decision, then why Villa did not pass responsibility to the police with statement. Really there are no trouble with Legia Fans as long as no one attack them like in nAZzi Allkmar where they were making rundups in the streets like during the German nazist occupation just for being Polish (you didn't even have to be a Legia fan), even club employees who were not with the players. There was no problem in Austria, not a problem in Denmark. In Warsaw no one bothered Zlinsky and Aston Villa fans. Really there was no reason to piss off Legia fans by depriving them of the opportunity to watch the match (often they booked travel in advance and that cost a lot). It seemed that after Madrid everyone understood that closing sectors, and especially controlling crowds with aggression ends badly. If they were afraid of flares (lol, we are in XXI ceuntry countries are thinking how to make it legal like Germany), they could just make a deep personal search on flares and don't let getting backpacks ect to the stand. Literally police did everything they could to escalate conflict like in some 3rd world country, and because they did it to us Poles after 90's have well... Let say complicated relation with police who kill several fans (including kids like in Słupsk 1998) just because they were in power and position thinking they will not get any punishment for that if they say they were hooligans.
