I don’t know how they would feel about people who aren’t European. It’s just a thought I had, how would the Romans react if they saw someone from an entirely different part of the world like Africa or Asia or Latin America. Or even Northern parts of Europe
@peluchan93983 жыл бұрын
@@therealspeedwagon1451 well, Rome was multiethnic, i guess we seems to be like North Africans or Anatolian People or from Syria cause most of latin american people are brunettes. But its a good question

Well it is uncertain if the legionnaires spoke classical or vulgar Latin, the 2 started diverging even by the time of Cicero, and vulgar Latin pronounced V as modern V not W.
@tijojoseph33153 жыл бұрын
Sounds like ecumenical latin, but the pronunciation of 'aeterna' is classical if I'm not mistaken.
@esti-od1mz3 жыл бұрын
Well, it is possibly a more real representation of the "rustic" latin spoken by the legions. We know that it's pronuntiation was more similar to modern italian

Imagine yourself in a service academy cadet (West Point for example) then you're marching in formation on the roads with this hymn where a university belt is located and you saw your former high school colleagues watching you from the sidewalk. You're proud because you're different than everyone else; you're a cadet while they're just university students and you remembered that they laughed at you for dreaming to become a soldier specifically an officer; you remained silent and disappeared, and no one knew what happened to you and suddenly you emerge as a cadet right before their eyes.
