Alexander Rybak won the ESC that year. And you’re right, he played the violin in the Eurovision movie. 😄

He didn't just win it. He has the biggest winning margin in the history of Eurovision (by 169 points). Almost double the points of second place

He held the record for the winner with the most points ever until 2017 (when u calculate points in the same system)

@@mata6340 entertainment value and also to prevent one side of the scoring from drowning out the other, by separating the results of the televoting and jury both sides get their say

0:57 he was! And even though it's been 12 years the man hasn't aged. The fact that this was Uploaded on my birthday and this is my all time favorite ESC song (maybe even song in general)

Alexander Rybak was a Belarusan born in Minsk, Belarus. His father Igor Rybak, was a well-known classical violinist in Belarus in the Soviet Union. His father defected to Norway in 1991 after a concert tour he was in with the Belarusian chamber orchestra of which he was part of. So Alexander went up growing in Norway and see.him win Eurovision for them

No you are not wrong. In the sing-along of the Eurovision movie there are a lot of cameos of former contestants of Eurovision. Also the street pianist in Edingburgh in the movie is a former winner of Eurovision (Salvador Sobral (Portugal) in 2017)
