Yeah.. although on the one hand it makes me appreciate more that Lego has given Eggman a unique mold, which makes it a more special minifigure.

@@jonhruiz4518it wouldn’t necessarily change too much, LEGO used and repurposes once-unique molds all the time. If it makes a minifigure more accurate, most people would be happy to see it. Using a normal minifigure torso and legs isn’t necessarily wrong or bad. Using a different torso would just be cool to see.

@@PansyPops A new Torso would have been nice for Gru. I don't mind that they use normal torsos and legs, but I do appreciate that LEGO makes the characters more like their original counterparts. I feel like this Gru didn't transition well into a Lego minifigure.

Lego can't be expecting much from this theme because I feels like not a lot of budget or even thought went into either of these. Looks like the Minions get Fantastic 4 powers in the new film or so would be my guess going off of the house build. I really like the base build with the Minions clustered around, but the Gru design absolutely ruins it for me personally.

Remember when Lego gave us the Simpsons house with those sleepy eye looking minifigures that didn't look right. Then later gave us minifigures with open eyes that looked way better. I can see them doing something similar where future sets will fix the faces for these characters by adding the noses.

LEGO should make a point of ALWAYS using molded heads for licensed cartoon properties. If they can do it for The Simpsons, Disney, Trolls, Animal Crossing, Loony Tunes, the first bunch of Toy Story sets, etc., etc., they can do them for The Flintstones, Despicable Me, and the like. Trying to put those exaggerated features onto standard minifig heads just looks DUMB, and makes folks not want to buy them, whereas more realistic MOLDED heads would likely convince folks to buy them "just for the figures", even if the sets sucked.

I actually really like this set I'm not a Despicable Me fan by any means but the build of this and mini figures look great so I might actually pick this up.
