They do sell glossy white or clear printable sticker pages that you can use with home printers. Almost exactly the same as Lego sticker sheets. Definitely nicer than having to tape over your print outs. Print, cut out, peel, and stick is so easy.

Davinci resolve is a free video editor, and renders 4k better. It usually always requires more HD space, but getting a high speed external HD helps. Lastly, the computer would need to be upgraded with a higher CPU and ram. To probably get back to your normal process.

Yes 100% Davinci Resolve, Its meant for more high production stuff. Its also free, And I would really look into a long term storage solution for all the video files. Plus I would look at a High Data transfer rate, your Hard drive write speed and read speeds will also be a factor.

Ah the world of 4k. Seems so great until you have to work with it. While I agree overall that the content you create and the way you do it doesn't necessarily require 4k and shooting in 1080p is probably perfectly fine going forward, I would suggest considering the following. Shooting in 4k but then downscaling to 1080p for editing and upload. You still will have the issue of a huge original file, but then you capture all the detail which can allow you to zoom in later on something if you didn't quite get it right in real time. Also, I feel like this provides a better clarity video. Also, have you considered hiring a video editor. Seems like you spend a decent amount of time on editing and wonder if an editor would be worth the cost to handle the time consuming portions, especially if you ever want to upload in 4k.

Render in H265 as it give great quality while giving great compression on your file size, as someone who deals with 100s of Gbs of 4K video footage it defiantly has a longer work flow unless you have a pretty high end PC, 1080P videos are great on this channel as i feel we aren't lacking in quality on your channel. keep up the great work!

Really interesting to see the PAB boxes hold as much (or more). I'm happy to see that! I use Adobe Premiere Pro and it's kinda clunky for exporting and uploading. I've been editing my videos on my iPad Pro with Lumafusion - the uploads seem smoother and the touch screen for editing is so much more user friendly. I don't use Premiere as much anymore since I've started with Lumafusion. For stickers, a cricut would definitely be able to cut out your stickers to an exact size you specify. I make my stickers on glossy sticker paper (I'm using Photo Paper Direct glossy paper for inkjet right now). You can specify the sticker size when you add them to your artboard in Cricut and do a print-then-cut right from the software. Although if you're not printing that often, just doing the packing tape and cutting out straight boxes I think would be equally as good. :) Hope this helps!

If ever necessary, look into creating proxy files for your clips, which helps editing way faster with 4K video files. Even Premiere Pro doesn't work too well with those files, without proxies. Adobe needs to step up their game, even though i love to use their programs. But as others mention, maybe Resolve might be your better option.

As far as the LEGO city goes I think the medieval area should be swapped out for the mansion. On the raised platform it’s nice and secluded. You just lose the dock. I would also consider taking out the amusement park and/or the camp ground. Use all of that space to expand the city and add more residential space to it With that said the amusement park, medieval area, Santa’s village, camp ground and underwater area would become seasonal displays. That way each time you swap them out you have a project to work on. It keeps the LEGO room changing and keeps you engaged in it rather than being “done”. End of the day it’s your city and your opinion on it matters the most. Do what makes you happy.

I hate the new boxes, I've been to the pab wall twice now since their introduction and haven't bought a thing. I think it was by far the worst decision lego have ever made! I've even seen a kid trying to fill the box and then it broke in the store, the crying was not epic! It's not like we weren't using them at home to sort or store our Lego, even recycling as we went back, why would disposable cardboard be a better option??? Do they enjoy cutting down trees? Even recycle cardboard was once a tree!

I watched your video with the new camera and I have to say while the colors are really nice on it, and the audio is fine, it has no depth to it and only really shows what it is focused on, the rest ends up being blurry, meaning you no long have the option to pause a video and find those small cool details or models in the backround of your videos using that camera. in your "I finally bought it (x2)..." video you can really see it if you compare what you see at 8:59 to 14:20

Given this is your job, a fancy computer that can make short work of 4K video editing and rendering is something that furthers the business and is something to write-off/expense? I'm not saying that absolves the cost, but given this is your livelihood perhaps the investment is worth it, vs. yet another $3k lego store haul...

The thing with computers is you don't always need to buy a new one. You can save a lot of money by reusing parts and just upgrading the essential components that will improve your video editing performance. I'd be willing to bet if you bought a new motherboard/cpu/gpu, you can reuse the rest of your parts. Some of the new intel motherboards still use DDR4 instead of DDR5 which would allow you to keep your ram and of course the power supply, hard drive and pc case which would save you several hundred dollars. I don't know how familiar you are with building computers but it is not that hard and there are many tutorials on KZfaq.

To improve the render and upload speed try lowering the bitrate. If you also render in H.265 video codec you can get the bitrate pretty low before getting a noticeable loss in quality.
@PetersPieces
@PetersPieces 6 ай бұрын
I said this in reply to another comment already, but youtube DOES NOT RECOMMEND exporting and uploading in h265 despite it being objectively more efficient. They have a support page (google something like “youtube recommended encoding settings”) explaining that youtube works best with h264 footage and will re-encode your h265 footage as h264. If they have updated the page or their recommendations since I last checked please let me know!

@@PetersPieces you're right, I'm not sure how that will translates to upload speeds or if youtube reencoding it to h264 will lower the quality significantly or just make it redundant. It may still be worth a try in h265, but that was just a suggestion incase he needed to lower the bitrate even more than what h264 could handle. Thanks for sharing

Make use of a store return policy? Feel bad. Stacking a pick-a-brick cup/box? Totally okay!

How much is the large box comparing to a large cup?

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but a Large Box is 23 studs long x 11 studs wide x 5 bricks+1 plate high.

Or 19 bricks x 11 studs x 7 studs if you lay the bricks on the side. Either way, the dimensions are not even and you can't really fill them completely with bricks bigger than 1x1. On the plus side, the large box does hold more bricks than the large cup: I could stack 632 1x2 bricks in a large cup, and 722 in a large box. I will keep using the cups for round/curved stuff, but the boxes for the bricks.

You really should try doing it on a macbook or mac mini, just to see how it handles it Many reviews would say it performs like a charm
