The Russians had a colony in Alaska from 1732 to 1867. They had several fights with the Tlingit tribe, including the Battle of Sitka in 1802, which is really close to Canada. So, you can easy have Russians, or the Russian-American Company (their trading company) in the Canada.

You should total use your Russians - they did colonize Alaska during this time period - they had conflicts with natives, the Spanish and the English - wouldn’t be too far off - use the trading company as the Russian American company. Also, native Alaskans have lots of stories of supernatural creatures. Including Bigfoot creatures. The Alaskan natives from Southeast Alaska have stories of wild men who live in the wilderness and protect sacred areas. You also have lots and lots and lots of moose.

@@worldofwargaming also fun fact - up in Alaska we have a legend that a Siberian tiger crossed the ice flows one winter and is roaming the wilderness - fish and game department says there is no tiger but hunters have reported seeing it - so feel free to have a dire tiger in your games
