Always the first to step up the game like Music video quality, self music production, fashion and styles, stage presence and broke all the kpop stereotypes. Seo taiji is like the blueprint and Bigbang is the manual.

BIGBANG was so frickin huge back in the day, I sometimes forget 😳. They legitimately had K-Pop at the palm of their hands at one point and competed with the biggest acts 10 years into their career. Something no other 2nd Gen group was able to do. Certainly the legends 👍

Super Junior is the BIG group in my opinion, when I didn't know anything about kpop and I didn't watch dramas either, around the year 2011, I was watching TV at home and on MTV they showed "Sorry, sorry" and "Mr. Simple", at that time where the internet was not massive, Super Junior was one of the groups that made kpop known to the world, actually I feel that the second generation groups were the great promoters of what kpop is at the moment, they reached the market America, especially Latin America and Mexico, where it was difficult for them to arrive in those years.

Wonderful reaction guys. I've been a fan since H.O.T and FIN.K.L. 1st gen. So it's been really fun watching Kpop evolve over the years and become popular in the USA. I used to be ashamed to share it and it was my secret in school. Now those kids are stanning over it. It's cute. Yes, I'm old. But 90s and early 2000s Kpop was something special. I remember downloading shows and MVs using my family dial up internet. 🤣 I still have many of those videos to this day! It was so new, innovative and cool! And it just kept getting better and better.

I just love how BTS members doesn’t have foriegn member yet break into western market they didn’t use the appeal that “oh he is from this or that he have this accent” bts just used english when they already got recognized by the western market plus all members don’t even came from seoul but in different cities of south korea. The thing I like about is how BTS have always credited everything where it's due. Hip-hop culture was originally originated from Africa, bts were the first ever kpop group to credit and actually mention the fact that their debut album was infact inspired by afro beats / hip-hop culture as well as admitting that some of their dance moves were also from the African culture, they have infact paved the way but unlike other groups, they still stay humble and don't show it neither appear to be superiors to other groups, I love those guys so much. They also stay true to their roots and admit their own mistakes.

he forget to mention that the 2nd generation have Big impact in the industry and that Shinee had a huge impact and were the Pilar of kpop and were the one who've bring almost everything in the industry and inspired others, and have made the kpop what it's today. THEY have start a lot of things and had open. Lot of doors for the other artist. So yeah BTS are huge but a lot of artist deserve to be known and are really talented too. And some of them have done things before them, when fan think BTS have invented a lot of different things most of the time it's not true other groupe have done it and most of the time they were part of the 2nd Gen. So if people love and are interested by kpop they should try to watch all different groupes even old one bcs BTS is not all the kpop. Don't get me wrong I love them but I been more than 13 years that I know kpop all their groupe ad evolution and I'm just a little tired to see people thinking that BTS have done everything, it's not true. Of course they're the one who were popular all around the world but they were not the one who've start doing concert etc all around the world etc etc. Yeah they had a huge impact and sometime I feel sorry for them bcs fans don't see that they also risk their life by working so much. But same they're not the only one in this case too. I would say I love the Boys but not some of their Toxic fan and there is a lot in their Fandom. Anyway that's it. He forgot some of other Groupe who had a huge impact but try all of this different groupes if you realrlly want to see what kpop is. ( Some of the 4 Gen or 3rd it depend when they've start have become popular quickly than other bcs of other groupe from their agency like Black Pink bcs of 2ne1 / TXT bcs of BTS....
