It's a good laptop, been using mine for two years and am pretty happy with it. Two issues I have with it: 1. The trackpad got greasy and will drop my inputs at times; annoying but gets better if I clean it with a soft cloth and some detergent. 2. The keyboard is kinda flimsy, dropped my phone on it once and one key just won't stay in place ever since. Other than that offers really good performance for my needs (gaming and surfing/internet work), for a price better than what was offered at the time I bought it by similar competitor brands. Nice review and appreciated the teardown section of the video, will use it to clean up the internals on mine.

Love the build-quality part of your vid - the hinge construction, the casing... are all important and worth-mentioning details. Good job. Wish you go far in the future.

I like that you seem to be really on point and true about goods and bads. I've been searching the whole internet for tests and reviews before buying a gaming laptop recently, but there is one thing that I don't quite seem to understand. On this video the background noise of the laptop with mux switch on is very loud, while actually, in reality, my laptop ain't that loud. I ended up to belive that afterall, the best test you can do is by actually buying it and see it yourself. I would also like to thank you for making this video and helping us.

I'm confused. The cooling system in your unit is clearly from last year's model. My rtx 3070 unit came with the upgraded cooler they used in the legion 5 pro. Is lenovo gimping the 3060 model with an inferior cooler?

I currently have 4690k 4.3Ghz + 970gtx. Would you recommend mainly for film editing + reder (Premiere pro + After) and occasionally gamiming this Legion games 5800x + 3060 + 16gb ram or PC: 5600x + 970gtx card (currently the prices are still crazy, so I have to hold back with selling my 970gtx, at the price of 3060 and after selling the old computer, I could easily afford such a Legion). I'm tempted by a laptop because it would be nice to work in the garden (I also think about streaming from a PC to a cheap laptop), but on the other hand, I always replace the equipment only after 8-10 years. I'm afraid that already after 3-4 years this laptop will be overheated (it will run around 10-12 hours a day) and will degrade too quickly compared to a computer? I will also ask how is it with the laptop volume (I had the previous model for testing - 10300H + 1650ti and to be honest for me it was unbearable during games, not to mention rendering)? I currently have 4690k 4.3Ghz + 970gtx. I`m interested in whether the laptop is actually suitable for "hard" work ( temperature + loudness of work) and I`m thinking a bit about mobility (now I work from home and I just want to be able to go outside from time to time or even a holiday trip combined with work, because I'm already tired with sitting at home). Overall, about 80% of the time I still wanted to work from home and only occasionally be able to take advantage of this mobility.

I dont get the audio latency test. The results for different machines vary wildly, yet most of them can easily handle below 10ms round trip latency with decent ASIO drivers, so what exactly does that test tell us?

i have this laptop although mine has a 3050ti and not a 3060. Mine didn't have the display bleed yours did and i also didn't have the audio issues you had. Honestly its one of the best laptops I've ever owned.

the thermal paste is flaky because it's not thermal paste, they apply phase changing pads similar to Honeywell's PTM 7950 at the factory

I bought this this week, as it was on sale, and I am a casual gamer. Usually play games on console, so I don't really care much about Ultra or even high graphic settings. To lower the graphics, doesn't ruin the experience for me, so... I believe this laptop would be a good one for someone like me? Someone with low graphic expectations, and rather focus on performance. I also don't care about using ray tracing, which, from this review, isn't good on this laptop either way.

I was able to get one ordered off the website shipped in less than a week though I did pay for the upgraded shipping don't know if that has anything to do with getting to the front of the line although it was a pre-configured model with 2 terabyte stick of storage so that might be a separate stock allocation number I didn't check

In regards to the hinges of the 2021 model showing more flex than the previous generation, from comparing the service manuals it seems that while the 2020 model had 10 screws in total holding the hinges, the 2021 model only uses 6. Certain parts of the metal supporting the hinges also seem a bit smaller on the new model.

After around 2 years of updates, I get 4 hours of internet use on a 69wh battery and good performance in games.

this laptop can also be had with the 3070 at 140 watts. it should run at or overtake the alienware at that point.

I used both 2020 and 2021 models also made unboxing in my channel only thing that bugs me is overdrive glitch 2020 model didn't had this issue I hope they fix in next bios update maybe :/

J'ai pas un modèle aussi performant en carte graphique mais je fais le meme constat que toi a savoir l'écran manque de luminosité 250 nits pour 120 hertz sur le mien . Pour la lecture vidéo mon CHROMEBOOK est bien supérieur pour 50% du prix ,oui j'ai pris le premier LENOVO LÉGION a 999 euros . Le clavier semble plutôt très bien ,de meme mon écran ne semble pas faire la meme pression sur la charnière . GROS défaut ,je pense qu'un ordinateur de jeux devrai avoir une notice minimale pour l'utilisateur novice comme moi en matière de Portable Gaming . Satisfait pour le prix et LA QUALITÉ de la machine par contre je conseillerai d'attendre et de prendre la version suivant qui doit sortir avec un Ryzen et une RADEON 6500 XT pour 1099 euros .
