Thanks for sharing. One thing I like best about Thinkpads is how easy they are to work on. I have have tried a few of the screen options. The 1080p screen with 95% color gamut is really a pleasure. Now that these systems have come down in price, it is very much worth the extra cost to get the 1080 option, but only if it is the original screen version (aftermarket 1080 screens do not have the same picture quality and colors )

Magnificient! IMHO the T520/X220 thinkpads had the last of the great keyboards, so I've been ebay'ing them and cobbling the parts together. So I had to transfer my HD LCD from a dead T520 to an ebay'd one with a low res screen. I was tempted to just rip them apart and transfer the whole display assembly, but you taught me a better way. Hey man great DIY! Just replaced my screen off this and it works! Only thing is for anyone attempting is be extremely careful with that connector it's very delicate. I thought I broke it but turns out everything is working. Thanks!

I might be the first person viewing this. Mr. Campbell, I am about to upgrade my Thinkpad T520-4240A17's screen from its original HD to FHD. I looked up internet and found comments saying that a screen of resolution different than the original one might either be physically unfit into the frame or 'burn' the graphical card since electricity output will be different. Are these comments rumor? Thanks! Francis
