Yeah it is - it burned my fuse for the backlight w/o disconnecting the screen.

This is kind of obvious, but I would test that the screen is fully working before taping it (and bezel) back in place 🙂. Thanks for the video. No need to replace mine just yet *knock on wood* .

I was hoping this would have been screws and clips like the T520… I’m having second thoughts about upgrading the display in my T14 Gen 2. I dealt with that black adhesive in MacBook Pro displays and hated it. Sucks to see everyone follow in Apple’s footsteps. Thanks for taking the time to make this though, it helps. I also have that same Nanch screwdriver set since 2016. A bit of warning: after 7 years of heavy use, a few weeks ago it somehow managed to come apart and the shaft retention ball bearings flew out. After almost an hour I found them and got it back together. Every now and then it doesn’t hurt to take the bit out and firmly tap the driver down into a firm surface to make sure it’s all pressed together. It’s nice to have a tool that has zero plastic in it.

Hi! Thanks for the video. I also have a t14s gen 2 but the Storm grey version with a ryzen 5 CPU. The screen that i have is a 30pin non touch screen 1080p 300nits but i really want to upgrade it. Currently i'm really interested in the screen model that you have in the video, the 1080p 500nits multitouchscreen with privacy guard. Do you know if i can do that upgrade? Will it work? I will buy the LNVB201H001 screen and the 40 pin cable because my 30pin cable isn't compatible. Also, would you recomend that screen? Is the privacy guard that good? The brigthness is good, the viewing angles wih the privacy guard off are good? Thx a lot for this video

@@Berecutecu Not yet, i buyed the screen from aliexpress but they send me an incorrect model, one from a Lenovo Chromebook. I'm willing to buy again (with other seller) the 500nits privacy guard screen and wish it will work. Any information from you would be gratefull

BS - you don't mention about disconnecting the battery first for this - it burned my fuse now my backlight doesn't work for the screen!!!! Amateur Weekend Technicians - don't make a video if you don't know how to do the job correctly!!

This video is all wrong. Why replace the LCD from the frame when you can replace the entire frame with the LCD from another laptop. No need to unglue anything or unclip fragile bezels. You put the laptop upside down and remove the entire screws with the wires. This video is the most damaging way to do it. WHY?

Why replacing the entire frame with LCD if you can replace the whole laptop? That way you don't need to unscrew anything or putting the laptop upside down...
