Nevertheless, I would wish that you already had an (actual) and better performing model of the Lenovo Ideapad 5 pro with the 90Hz-display, better built-quality and potentially already improved connection to your mobile monitors - maybe your overall result would look a little bit different!? Very lately, I had exactly the same choice between your three considered devices Ideapad 5 pro, Yoga Slim 7 pro and the Huawei Matebook 14s, all devices equipped with AMD Ryzon7 CPU, 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage. First of all, the Matebook 14s gave me that "I would like to have"-feeling, but after some evaluation, my decision was against the following devices due to my individual main reasons: Yoga Slim 7 pro: Positioning of the power-button, missing HDMI-port Matebook 14s: Potentially high reflections of the glossy screen, RAM-connection with "only" 2660MHz, older CPU-generation based (Ryzen7 4800H) on AMD Zen2-architecture, "lower" display-resolution Not sure if my personal evaluation is right, but based on that reasons I have ordered an Ideapad 5 pro device for around 800€ yesterday, which actually seems the best overall-package in terms of price and performance for me. Nevertheless, I am also not yet completely convinced if the Ideapad 5 pro can meet my (advanced) expectations concerning display, built-quality, keyboard & trackpad, poor sound-quality, poor webcam-performance, reliability etc. - so let`s see when the device will arrive. :-) Would appreciate your feedback. Have you ever performed Gauge Reset of the battery using the Energy Manager tool from Lenovo?

I got a matte FHD screen on my ThinkPad P14S, and it's good but looks like it might be less durable and more prone to scratching than a glass touchscreen. Do you have any experience of screen protectors on matte non-glass screens? Are all matte screens some type of plastic rather than glass? I think my intended protector is plastic.

Great comparison. Do you have any plans to review the new VivoBook S435? Supposedly has full HD 400nits, great battery and 2 thunderbolt ports. Comes in 11th gen i5 and i7 models, Intel EVO certified. I haven't heard about AMD versions. Comes across as a Vivobook/Zenbook hybrid.

When doing temperature and fan test, you should mention the ambiant temperature. Test them at 28°C if possible. Makes a huge difference in hot countries.

Hi, great video thanks! I am actually hesitating between the 7i Pro 14" and the 7i 15" (2in1), both Intel 1165G7. I am reschooling and i am not sure what's the best option. The 2 factors that makes me hesitating is the 90hz display (causing a drop in battery life) and the missing numpad on the 14" (which is always nice to have even if you can plug an external one. Also could you tell me if there is a possibility to switch from 90 to 60hz in case I want to save some battery for 14"? Thanks!

May be you would help me to choose: 1) Yoga slim 7 with R5 4500u and 8 GB RAM, 256 SSD 2) Yoga slim 7 with i5-1135g7 and 16 GB RAM, 512 SSD (a bit more expensive) Is it a huge different between those two if we keep in mind that the R5 version has 8gb of ram only and i want to take a laptop for the nearest ~3-4 years? I finally got my Matebook 14 (AMD) which was in sale. Must say that it is a great device for the price. There is one thing however that get my crazy and I am surprise you did not mention in on your review. It has to do with the backlit keyboard. By default it switches off after a while but looking in the settings I found that you can set it to never turn off. However when you close the lid and open it again the keyboards lights up for the windows welcome screen and once logged in to windows it turns off. So EVERY time I have to turn on the backlit on the keyboard and that drives me mad. Why cant the keyboard backlight stay on? When I am working in the afternoon with poor lighting I need the keyboard backlight to stay on. If I close the lid to grab a bottle of water and I login the backlight is turned off. Do you still have your to check if this is the case or I have a bad unit? Thanks man!

I mean there is quite a bit of price differernce between them. I got my Matebook with Ryzen 4600h and 16GB RAM for €800, and now you can get a Matebook X Pro for under €1100 and the GeForce MX250 version for €1300-ish in Germany. Those ones would be fairer to compare with Slim 7 pro, don't you think?

I think the MateBook screen has a much warmer tone than the Slim 7 pro. Is that the default setting for the MateBook?

Huawei now has every resson to build gaming laptops that don't only complete the range of product line up but rival the 2021 ASUS M16 and DELL XPS 17 with the new AMD 5800HS/5800HX complimented by the new RIZEN mobile Graphics in the new ASUS ZENBOOK M16! We're waiting Huawei, at least now that you have the Mateview GT monitor with gaming specs on the market!

It is 90hz on paper for the Slim7Pro. But is it actually perceptible. This is what I wanted to know from reviews. The response times measured was 22.4ms (black to white) and how do you expect it to display at 90hz!! ? 1/22ms is less than 60hz

Would you believe the Huawei webcam is in the same position this year too??? That has got to be one of the biggest slaps to the consumers a laptop manufacturer ever gave in years. Not just the position, but that it is also a great camera is a double slap. I hate stubborn companies and will keep my money.
