I have a hack. So when leopard geckos go to the bathroom in the same spot you can just fold up a Kleenex and put it where the bathroom is. I usually wet the folded Kleenex in the cage so the Kleenex doesn’t stick up. Now you only have to take out the waste once a week instead of all the bedding. I also heard you could put a few drops of coconut oil on the Kleenex to encourage it to go to the bathroom there.

If you have a flat feeding stone/dish then you can place Dubia roachs on their backs and they find it very hard to turn back over - their wriggling will quickly draw your gecko's attention.
@antizombie196
@antizombie196 6 жыл бұрын
Hello, At what size can gecko eat Dubia roachs? They seem to be too large for my gecko which is about 5 weeks old. Thank you.
@Lusewing
@Lusewing 6 жыл бұрын
You can buy them as nymphs online and they are a great size for a baby. My boy has been on them and mealworms since he was 13g (he now weighs 40g) and he loves them. Dubias grow slowly so its fine to buy a big batch of babies as they will pretty much grow with the Gecko in size. Follow Rebecca's tip of making sure the roach is not bigger then the gap between your Gecko's eyes and you will do fine - they are nice and soft so so easy to munch on. In the last month I've gotten hold of some adults and have started breeding my own Dubias (just a small colony). Really easy to look after and feed, they just need a little extra warmth.

I'm also upgrading her tank size so my nami is getting a brand new home with everything. I got her with a 10 gallon long and I was just not happy with that so as soon as I could I was changing it. Great video! I absolutely love leopard geckos. Best beginner reptile hands down! My 1st reptile was a leopard gecko I got for my 4th birthday. I still have her 23 years later! Shes probably the most basic reptile in my collection, but she will always be one of my favorites. Shes quite the trooper! Shes 23 and showing no signs of slowing down. She can still hunt her own crickets!

I have a hack. If you have some old containers and you put some plastic rap over it and poke holes in the top and make a big hole in the middle.then lay a another piece of plastic wrap and poke more holes .then put a hair bad or a head band over the plastic rap. This work perfect for crickets.

Keep your crickets alive and it is way cheaper than a cricket keeper and those are to small for the crickets.
@kataratify
@kataratify 6 жыл бұрын
The kritter keepers come in different sizes....(I agree though the black cricket keeper w/the tube etc is a bit too small). I have 2 kritter keepers that my crickets go into, one is a med size and the other is large. The medium sized one was around $5 (US) and the large was maybe $7?

I got my little leo November of last year, she started out as a friend and now she is my emotional support animal. Since I'm allergic to fur, she is my best bet at having a support animal. I'm so happy with her, I'll just walk around the house with her on my shoulders when I'm feeling depressed or anxious. She really calms me down with the feeling of her weight and just her movements, because when she is on me I know I need to be grounded to keep her safe. Of course I dont have her out all the time.

That’s awesome! Just be careful when walking with her on your shoulders, she could easily fall off and get hurt.

You can also try transparent glass tealights as a bowl. That makes them see the worm and glass is so smooth that mealworms do not escape.

ah thats a good idea, though i feel my geckos would try to eat them through the glass haha

I've had plenty of native Northeastern U.S. snakes and lizards. I've had Texas Spiny Tails, Emerald Swift's as a kid. This is my first Gecko period :) He's an Adult for sure. I noticed his poops were small but many, so figured the prior owner fed him smaller crickets etc which is ok just need more :) and that's what I just fed him. I got loaded the crickets and dusted a few, he's happy. Thanks again

Hi, first of all I just want to thank you for always having incredibly helpful content. You are my go to channel to learn more for my leopard gecko named Cisco. So I’ve been encountering an issue with him. I’ve only had him for less than a month and have been trying to feed him mealworms or crickets dusted with the proper supplements but whether it is calcium or multivitamins, Cisco does not seem interested in eating when his food is dusted. Is there any advice you could give me because I want him to be healthy but at this point I’m not sure what to do

I found that my gecko likes me using tongs and food bowls, and with the tongs I do make him chase it just a little bit so he “hunts” them down

Leopard Gecko believe me one did try and I was having none of it, after checking her tank whilst cleaning there were no mealworms that had escaped apart from the one I lost with the tongs 😂😂😂 so that bowl is doing well for now. I’m hoping to get another leo so the food doesn’t die off or pupate too quick before feeding, with this heat the feeders have been a pain

I had a gecko that did not understand bowls, but when I put it next to a hide she crawled on top and could then see the food and learned to use bowls that way.

Fiona Shepley ok. I don't have geckos anymore, and this was for worms which you don't typically want to let out on substrate. I was letting other people know that their gecko might figure it out if they have a higher vantage point.
