A most likeable piece and deserves to be heard again every now and then.

What a magnificent work this is! And, what a marvelous composer!!! The 1st movement is loaded with intensity, passion, and bravura...the 2nd movement is just beautiful, full of magical poetry, and the final movement is a grand Tour de Force for BOTH the soloist and the orchestra! In my opinion, this work and this composer will stand the test of time, and pianists will be playing this concerto for decades and longer!

Just listened to Dieter Ammann's Piano Concerto, written in the same year as this; what a contrast! Where that work is just a meaningless flood of notes and empty orchestral effects, this has real energy, passion and lyricism. Admittedly, it's more "conventional" - some would say "old-fashioned" - and the second movement lacks melodic interest, but what's the sense of modernism for modernism's sake? None in my book. Exciting, uplifting and fun. And superbly played and recorded. Thanks for posting.
