Oh the joys of filming and the chatter between shooter and camera guy that saves so many turkeys. Then the quiet calling killers took over and shooting the turkey was job one!

Man...the look of frustration on Ted’s face was so real....I think we’ve all been there brother. Mine was last deer season as I watched 7 deer take up the trail I had literally just stood on 10 minutes sooner. It was my last day hunting and I felt so dejected and frustrated. Still hurts to think of it today. Those are the lessons that stick with you!

These dudes are so good. I mean this as a compliment this is like watching a poor man’s meateater it literally just lacks the production quality of such a show. But this isn’t a generic ass hunting show where they just hold up heads with seemingly no work involved in producing a trophy, they take you through every process of planning and setting up a hunt for success and they are showing you how to do it on public land. The best KZfaq show. Production company needs to throw them some $$$

Got my 3 here in Mississippi in 4 days of hunting. Called one in and actually got lucky and got the other 2 just sitting in an area they are hitting hard for food. Seen a ton of Scratching and heard them roost the night before not far away. Sitting there hearing them come off the roost the next morning, thought about calling and before I could I seen them coming straight in. Good Job guys and good luck in Iowa. My Girlfriend lives up north of Cedar Rapid and is seeing a ton of Birds and they are strutting like crazy up there. Get em Jake and Ted! Tell Greg and Aaron to get busy as well. Almost my Best Season ever. Now for some Flathead Fishing!

Your first hunt makes a point. I think if you are walking and calling blindly always call standing right beside a tree you can sit under. Every once in a while he gobbles so close you don't have time to scramble for a tree.

Gotta sit tight on these Alabama birds. Let them know your hens flying down and if they hen up just wait they’ll come right back exactly where your at, so don’t move location. They’ll come back about a hour to an hour and half from when they hear you. Call soft and about 30 minutes apart if they don’t come in at first. I killed one 3/26/2020 & one 3/27/2020 sitting in the exact same spot literally. And had a Tom today 3/28/2020 walk just out of gun range this morning sitting in the exact same spot. I had grass to cut and I left at 10:00 am but you can bet he came back about an hour after I left. So stay put !!
@RangerTim
@RangerTim 4 жыл бұрын
Oh, I’m a retired State Forest Ranger, these Southern birds will come back to you. If you don’t call to much they’ll gobble when their coming back to you. After they fly down here in Alabama they’ll hush gobbling not long after they fly down. So if they don’t come straight to you and they go away from you just hold tight and don’t call. Call softly every 30 minutes and usually they’ll gobble coming in to you. Once you hear him coming, call even softer once. But they’ll also come in silent, but they’ll definitely be back to the original spot they heard you from to start with... Best of luck. Tim Davis, in Alabama
@arttrumbo9496
@arttrumbo9496 4 жыл бұрын
@@RangerTim That's almost exactly what they did to me here in Tennessee on thursday. They flew down away from me and went quiet. I moved positions, and took my time, calling quiet, and 30 to 45 minutes after they flew down all four Toms had split up and were gobbling back to me. One of them worked his way back to my first position under the roost. one stayed over a small hill with some hens, and the last two came looking for me. I shot the first one that arrived. he gobbled a couple times after I had moved, but then went quiet and covered the last 100-150 yards or so without a sound. I heard him crunching leaves right before he popped out from behind a tree at 25 yards.

Swing an a miss , we all have been an if others say they haven't their full of it. More than not less calling is the key, but reading the birds an amount of pressure is important. First thing to do is make sure them shotguns that are shooting with the head sights are shooting to point of aim. If they are not take them to a good gunsmith and have them adjusted or do it yourself. I’ve done several and done right you will never tell they have been straightened(bent) .
