The authenticity of Billy and the band shines through. The Stanley Brothers are not easy to copy well, and this version is outstanding, especially when considering this is live.

Growing up in Appalachia Kentucky this song brings back memories of home, I see an old farmhouse and mammy and Pappy setting in the living room listening to flat and Scruggs those many years ago, I can’t wait to see them along with mom, pop, all my aunts, uncles, cousins already gone home. Bless those mountain roads hollers, and that old church house we all loved. They sing as if they know how we feel from being here and knowing the feeling of living in these old mountains, the people, the customs and the things that make this place the only place in the world you wanna be, it’s home.

Some people are born with it. Billy is the example of having it. Not like he didn't work hard to get where he is, Theres great musicans out there that can't write songs but practice thier instrument. Billy is the total package. What a talent he is, he will only get better folks if that's possible.
@yvonnegivens29412 күн бұрын
I am so in love with this young gentleman, he really is the complete package. He brings out so many emotions in his concerts, I swear it's spiritual! I'm just glad he survived his experiences.

Man I love this song. My grandparents used to play it along with a long list of blue grass music. It was all my grandpa listened to. I once left my cassette of the Doors in the tape player of his truck, the look on his face when that was what he heard instead of bluegrass when it started playing …. Excellent cover.

You have that right, sir. I'm an old man from the Eastern Kentucky Highlands and am rooted in old-time Mountain Music/Bluegrass. I've only heard some of this fellow's guitar picking and was doubtful about how he might handle a song like this. No longer! He sang it and played the guitar breaks just as the song should be sung and played. I think the Stanley Brothers would approve. I think it's wonderful that people such as yourself can relate to this music and realize it's the heart and soul lies with songs such as this. We share something in common, I think, in the folk music of our two countries. I've heard some really impressive Bluegrass from your country and always feel like it's a real compliment. Okay, sorry to go on so long. I hope all is well with you in your beautiful land.
