When I was doing online research into the 2023 Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro, details about what was under the seats were scant. All the videos and articles focused on the more dramatic features on the outside, ignoring details that may be important to an actual owner. This video fills that gap.

Question out of left field...Grumpy and anyone else owning a BMW R1200 2015 or later model. So most of us BMW owners service our own bikes (partly with the help of Grumpy's vids) ie oil changes, brake bleeds, drive shaft greasing etc but how do you /we know that the bike is running to optimum performance without visiting an authorised BMW service centre and plugging it into a computer with BMW software to optimise its tune? And secondly how often does this need doing?

That is a great question. In my opinion, aside from valve check and adjustments and spark plug changes nothing else mechanical that you do will affect the seat of the pants running of the bike. If the valves and plugs are not done then that will affect engine performance so get it done, either DIY or by a mechanic. Suspension should also not be neglected and that can actually sneakily wear out over time. Other than that, lubing and general maintenance ... that needs to be done to keep the bike in normal working order. No dramatic differences after it is done except if it was neglected in the first place. So, the main thing to bring it back to the dealer for is ECU and other electronic updates, and that can *sometimes* make a performance improvement, although it is usually to fix some problem (or as some might say, to cause more problems). I get it done occasionally myself. "Optimum performance" is usually in one's head until due to neglect, it is not. 😀

if you work on your bikes, how is that you "guess were the air filter is? and were the battery is?? you guess how to work on the bike??

Maybe because I have not actually worked on the air filter of the brand new (at the time) bike yet? Since then, I have worked on the bike and on the battery, so guess what ... I know where the battery is. 😏Thanks for the comment, though. 🤨 BTW I checked your channel to see if I could find any tips and came up short. 🤔
