My father had a trust notebook that he let us know about through the years. He passed away this last spring and he had everything laid out in the notebook with hand written notes added to all the paperwork. It was the greatest gift he ever gave us -having his affairs in order.

Do I save the paper? YES! I have a journal which I lovingly refer to as “Remnants of My Day”. Wrapping paper is a perfect remnant to add. It’s beautiful and offers me writing space to reflect on the gift and all of the circumstances around receiving it.

My father always had “a death book”. It was extremely valuable when he passed. I also have one, which gives me great peace that my loved ones will know what to do upon my death. I have also gone so far as to write my own obituary (except for the dates) as family may be too distraught to think clearly. Thank you for speaking about this on your channel, it is so important. ❤

I also emailed a scanned copy of my will, power of attorney, medical directive, etc to a trusted family member who lives in another state in case a tornado strikes my home, the documents may be retrieved.

We’ve been living among possible wildfire evacuations the past several weeks. Important papers (or the copies of them) are on the “Get Ready” list. We had some handy, but not all. Thanks for the tip of the book and binder. Thankfully, we did not have to leave. Blessings to all the people who lost their homes or family members due to wildfires. Thankful prayers to firefighters and for their safe return home.

Getting affairs in order is something I have been putting off but need to do. Thanks for the reminder. I ordered the notebook. Last year I sprained my ankle badly and the cloud sandles were the only shoe I could wear comfortably. I could slide my swollen foot into them and they were amazingly comfortable and provided good support. I first heard about them from one of your videos.

Thank you for the reminder to give our children a guide in case something happens 🙏. We have a number of things in order,but it's some of the smaller items that I forget to include, such as jewelry appraised and items handed down from family members and the stories behind them. I lost my mom in June, and even though a lot was taken care of, other things were not. It motivates me to get things done, so thank you for the nudge ❤

Love watching you in your garden and home. Pet peeve for me is candles lit during the daytime. This has been passed down to me for generations. "Never should candlelight compete with daylight" Candles should never be lit before dusk or if needed on a very dark day.

I didn't get stressed about your baking until I saw you using a sharp knife to scrape out your food processor bowl. Maybe one of us needs to send you a rubber spatula/scraper!! The crisps do look absolutely delicious though, and your flower arrangement is gorgeous.

Linda, great advice about the organization book. We call ours the Life Book. We compiled it after my husband’s brother passed at 60. He did not has a Life Book. I was listed as his co-executor & co-trustee. It was massive and took a year for us to sort. Needless to say I was prompted to get our affairs in order. Great advice! ❤

It is so important to scan and email a copy of your will, medical directive, power of attorney, etc. to a trusted family member in another state; in case of a natural disaster, such as a tornado. Your documents can be easily retrieved if they are lost. ❤

QUESTION What is the significance of different levels in the oven? Does the center of the oven bake more evenly or does the top shelf bake cookies more crisp. I’ve always wondered that. If you use three oven shelves for cookies, does one shelf make a better cookie?

A favorite veggie crisp of ours is A Carrot Casserole that includes chopped onion , celery and Velveta cheese with Stevia brown sugar , butter and crushed Ritz crackers. First parboiled carrots & drain. To make an easy dessert use your favorite fresh fruit one box Jiffy pie mix and add 1/2 stick butter 1/3 cup sugar cinnamon add crushed pecans. Place in greased pan fruit then mix other ingredients together and sprinkle over fruit. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for at least 20 min.ei

Thanks for sharing these organizational tips! I’m also trying to compile a list of house and car maintenance procedures. Hubs does all the oil changes and changing the furnace air filters etc. I wouldn’t know what to do on my own without the lists. 😢
