Let's design Automatic Voltage Regulator AVR which has 5 to 7kW capacity for portable generating set

3 жыл бұрынAn automatic voltage regulator (AVR) is a solid state electronic device for automatically maintaining generator output terminal voltage at a set value. It will try and do this as the generator load or operating temperature changes. The AVR is part of the alternators excitation.
This time I will explain how to design a simple AVR that has a capacity of 5 to 7 KW.
I did all of that with the computer not with the hardware media, like PCB
Specification for Regulator and fitted generator
1. When Generator Output Voltage is 230V, the Sampling Voltage is 18V and 20V
2. During the time from without loading and with loading, the secondary winding voltage is less than 150V
3. During the time from without loading and with loading, the excitation current is less than 2.5A
note : transistor mj2955 stimulation only you can replace a horizontal flyback TV as 2SD1887 2SC5149 2SC5299 and other

no transistors in parts list. mock up of board shows MJ2955, a PNP device, schematic shows NPN device, No emitter anti current hogging resistors on pass devices.... dunno how long you expect it to work....

Right mj2955 show animation only, u can check schematic wiring diagram i have shown it what type transistors npn used and If you doubt it works or not just ignore it

where do I look to find one of the printed circuit boards you use for this 5 to 7 kw avr ? I can get all the discrete components , but I can not find a board

@@JNElectrics are you suggesting use a bare breadboard and the hard wire and solder all the discrete part connections on the underside of the board manually? It seems like the empty avr trace connection printed circuit boards are not available. so it would be prudent to just buy one of the alerady manufactured avr's on the web that are 5,5 to 7 kw and sell for $19,99 + $1.99 speedpak shipping fee.

@@JNElectrics by the way the video is great and has all the needed info except ,where to get the board . Having a printed AVR cresent board is what makes the job easy.

There is no preset option or we can say no option for adjusting voltage

Yes I installed resistor fixed, you can change value . You can replace R3 with VR 2kOhm.
